Kids and adults can enjoy the Fishing Park Mikata—the only ocean-fishing park in Wakasa, where you can go fishing amid the gorgeous scenery. The staff will explain to you how to load the bait and use the reel, so even beginners can rest easy. Also, there is a barbeque terrace, so you can enjoy the fish you just caught.

The Konsho Ototo Town is an all-weather barbeque facility where you can enjoy grab fish or hook char/Rainbow trout in the clear waters, where you can take in nature, that also lets you enjoy coal grilling fish that you have caught. You cannot bring in outside materials, but food and drinks for barbeque are available for purchase.

Fukui Areas

around-area-map

Northeast of Kyoto, the ancient Tojinbo Cliffs separate Fukui prefecture from the Sea of Japan in a stretch of land well worth exploring. Water sports and seaside delicacies are available in abundance as the spectacular rugged coastline flattens down into beaches to the west of the prefecture, while inland, Fukui is home to Zen Buddhist temples and historic ruins.
