With a fish theme, the Roadside Station Noto Shokusai Ichiba is located in Noto’s biggest fishing port—Nanao Port—and it is a wharf building packed with the charms of Noto including tourism guidance and restaurants, focusing particularly on the sale of specialty items from Noto and fresh fish from the morning’s catch. Right next to the ocean, you get a wide view of the peaceful waves in Nanao Bay. Approximately 18 minutes by car via Tatsuruhama Interchange on the Noto Satoyama Kaido.

We decided to do the barbecue. We ordered one set with crab, shellfish, fish, etc, and could barely finish it between the two of us. We had fun grilling. Also we saw a live deep-sea fish that was for...

This is an art museum produced by a world famous pastry chef called Hironobu Tsujiguchi who is from Nanao City in Wakura Town, Nanao City, Ishikawa Prefecture. The facility has three sections: an exhibition of sugar artworks by Mr. Tsujiguchi, a “Café” that provides original sweets and a shop called the “Patisserie Boutique” that sells take-out items such as cakes and baked goods. Not only can visitors enjoy the fusion of sweets and art, but original sweets available only in Wakura are also popular.

Located on a hill near Roadside Station Notojima, this art museum dedicated to glass art has an exterior appearance resembling a space station. Inside, the museum primarily displays glass art, including sculptures based on designs by Picasso and Chagall, Chinese Qing dynasty glasswork, and pieces by modern artists. As you can see, the building is very unique. They also have shop building which remind you of spacecraft but unfortunately the shop is closed by now. I think it would be better if they have shop or...

A plaza with bronze statues of the white herons at the center of the legend behind the establishment of the Wakura Onsen hot spring district; a fountain in the plaza is supplied with water directly from a source spring. The fountain can be used to make “hot spring eggs,” custard-like soft boiled eggs; just put a basket of raw eggs in the fountain and 12-15 minutes later you can enjoy delicious hot spring eggs. The water comes direct from the spring and is extremely hot, so take care not to burn yourself while you have fun.

An art museum around a five-minute taxi ride from JR Nanao Station. Distinguished by its seven domed roofs, the museum displays a collection of numerous works connected to the northern Ishikawa Prefecture region. The Ikeda Collection, consisting of works collected by Nanao City businessman Fumio Ikeda, forms the core of the museum's collection. The museum holds regular exhibitions and visitors can see a variety of works of art, including Mino ware, Karatsu ware, and other types of pottery, as well as Japanese paintings, sculptures, crafts, and more. There's also a high-definition video mini-theater which continuously screens documentary videos on the works of Nanao-born painter Hasegawa Tohaku.

This residence belonged to the Muroki family, whose members operated a light cargo business and sake brewing business in the Edo period, and served as members of the Diet in modern times. The gorgeous building is topped with a triangular, hip-and-gable roof, and the thatch roof main building, garden, and former rice granary (now used as a folk museum) are open to the public. The complex has been designated a Tangible Cultural Property by Nanao City.

"The ruins of Nanao Castle, a castle believed to have been built by the Noto Hatakeyama clan during the Warring States period. The name ""Nanao,"" meaning ""seven ridges,"" is derived from this castle use of seven ridgelines extending from the foot to the top of a mountain for its foundation, and the castle is believed to have been one of the largest in the country. The castle was captured by Uesugi Kenshin in 1577, after which members of the Uesugi and Maeda clans served as lords of the castle for a time. The castle's usefulness ended when a newer castle was built close to the port. Today, visitors can see the ruins of the stone walled Sakura horse riding grounds and get a view of distant Nanao Bay and the Noto Peninsula beyond the mountain from the ruins of the inner citadel. The cedars growing along the site's walking paths are kept trimmed, recreating what things must have looked like long ago when the castle was in use."
