A lounge located on the second floor of the Kanazawa Tokyu Hotel, a hotel located a five-minute drive from Kanazawa Station notable for its Japanese-inspired interior. Here you can enjoy the kind of elegant atmosphere only a high-class hotel can provide. During the lounge’s popular afternoon tea time, the lounge itself recommends a sweet made by the hotel’s patissier together with a cup of Kaga Kocha black tea made with tea grown in Kaga. Created through a joint effort by various Japanese tea specialty shop owners, Kaga Kocha has a faintly sweet and toasty flavor. You can also order a visually attractive afternoon tea set consisting of cake, fruit, quiche, scones, or other delights served in a traditional jubako box.

A 10-minute drive from Kanazawa Station. This steakhouse is located in Korinbo Tokyu Square, a shopping mall within walking distance of Kanazawa Castle Park and the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa. Surrounded by the restaurant’s dazzling atmosphere, a chef will energetically turn choice, top quality ingredients into a delicious meal right before your eyes. The restaurant serves Noto beef, a variety of Japanese black beef raised amidst the natural beauty, mountains, and sea of Noto; only a few hundred head of this rare beef are shipped each year. Compared with other brand name beef varieties, Noto beef has slightly less marbling, instead boasting an outstanding quantity of the oleic acid, an indicator of its excellent flavor. As you chat with the chef at the counter, you are encouraged to enjoy your steak with a house soy-based sauce or a secret recipe chili sauce.

We had an awesome meal at Rokkakudo Seseragi. The Wagyu sirloin was the best steak we have ever had; and the service was outstanding. We are now spoiled and will compare every restaurant to this...

A sweet shop and café located on the fourth floor of Nousaku, a long-standing lacquerware shop which has been operated by eight generations of owners since 1780. The popular Yoshihashi, a high class Japanese confection, isn’t sold for taking home; it can only be enjoyed in the shop at a seat in the café area. Other customer favorites include the matcha green tea cream zenzai sweet soup, which combines the elegant sweetness of Noto dainagon adzuki beans with the flavor of matcha green tea; as well as the kuzu-kiri kudzu powder noodles made to order. A long-standing Japanese-style curry restaurant located in Hirosaka, Kanazawa City, Ishikawa Prefecture which offers Kanazawa curry, a local favorite. This famous restaurant has been loved by the residents of Ishikawa Prefecture since it was established in 1971. The restaurant’s curry, carefully prepared according to a secret recipe consisting of local ingredients and over 20 spices, is characterized by its perfect level of spice and dark, almost black color. Thick and rich, this curry goes great with toppings such as breaded pork cutlets and wieners. One of the most popular items on the menu is the L set curry, which is topped with the restaurant’s three most popular toppings.

Kanawaza Gyokusen-tei located in Kosho Town, Kanazawa City, Ishikawa Prefecture is a garden restaurant overlooking Gyokusen-en which is a chisenkaiyu-style (strolling around a pond and a fountain) garden with a history some 120 years longer than Kenroku-en Garden (one of the three famous gardens in Japan). The restaurant adding a modern essence on a house built in the late Edo period (1615-1865) is enhanced with an elegant atmosphere from table seating with a fusion of Japanese and European style to a private room which duplicates Kan’untei, a Kyoto Urasenke style tea room. "A traditional ryotei Japanese restaurant located close to Hasuike Pond Gate in the Kenrokuen Garden. The restaurant was established in 1875. In this long standing establishment, you can enjoy a meal while taking in the seasonal scenery of the preeminent Japanese garden in the Kaga area. Many famous people, including members of the Imperial family, have dined at this restaurant. Today, the restaurant consists of two buildings-the Honkan main building on the shore of Hisago Pond, the original landscape feature which inspired the creation of the Kenrokuen; and the Suitei pavilion jutting out over the pond's waters. The Suitei is particularly popular because diners can enjoy the sound of the Midoritaki waterfall and the sight of the garden's scenery reflected off the surface of the pond sprawling just beyond the pavilion's windows. The restaurant serves matcha powdered green tea with seasonal namagashi fresh Japanese style sweets as well as reasonably priced kaiseki bento lunches. The ""Hisago Bento"" is particularly recommended and comes with a variety of traditional Kaga dishes."

The restaurant also offers the tsukemen noodles with dipping sauce-style ""Tsuke Jibu Soba"" as well as ""Jibu Udon"" for udon noodle lovers. The adjoining souvenir shop sells traditional crafts and souvenirs from Ishikawa Prefecture; popular sweets like the ""Kotoji Toro,"" modeled after the elegant stone lantern which serves as a symbol of the garden, are particularly recommended."
