"A sake brewery located in Kanazawa City. The brewery has been in business since the Edo period and got its start in 1583 when Kamiyachiya Jin'uemon moved here from Owari Province to make sake especially for the feudal lord of the area. As the former official sake brewery of Kaga Domain, the company continues to sell traditional local sakes to this day. The company's main building, brewery, and tool warehouse were built in the mid-Edo period and have been designated National Registered Tangible Cultural Properties. The company's top sake is its ""Kagatsuru."" A masterpiece and favorite of successive lords of Kaga Domain, this sake has received numerous awards at the Japan Sake Awards. With an advance reservation, visitors can tour the company's historic brewery facility and observe the sake making process; after the tour, participants can also taste the company's products."

Long, thin Ishikawa prefecture runs along the Sea of Japan up into Noto Peninsula. Highlights of the seaside towns lining the west coast include Kanazawa, often described as a "Little Kyoto" thanks to its old wooden tea houses and geisha culture as well as its picturesque Japanese garden, Kenroku-en.
