- This Kaga Yuzen dyeing studio is operated by Chibeni, a dyer established some 200 years ago during the early Edo period. Here visitors can see a variety of Kaga Yuzen kimono and other craft articles made by Ikko Teranishi, the seventh head of a Kaga Yuzen dyeing family; in addition, visitors can also try actual Yuzen dyeing themselves. The facility also has a shop where you can purchase original and exclusive Yuzen-dyed items.

The exhibits may seem faded and old, but they show an age old tradition and beauty that is the very essence of Japan. The silks are beautiful.

- Ishikawa Hakusan-shi Yahatamachi Ri 1-6
- This studio focuses on using wood from the Shishiku area. The facility is broadly divided into two areas - a wood studio and a food studio. The wood studio operates as a wood crafts store owned by a lumber dealer which has been in business for over a century. The studio sells a wide variety of items and also regularly holds woodworking workshops. The food studio operates as a pizzeria and bakes pizzas using a big brick firewood oven. The food studio also offers a large selection of other dishes, including pastas and desserts.

This is one of my favourite restaurants in the area. The food is always good with very kind service. The building is completely made from wood, and is really romantic.

Kanazawa Paulownia Craft is charred paulownia wood bark covered in a rust mixture of polishing powder and lacquer and is characterized by patterns of gold or silver powder, called “Taka-Makie.” The most popular items are “Chokotto tray” which are decorated with a single, lovely makie design. In addition, tea ceremony items, paulownia braziers, ashtrays, sweet bowls and various paulownia craftworks are available. The nearest station is Kanazawa Station.

The studio offers short classes on making your own wood craft, and you can choose to make a bowl, small basket, or sculpture. Ishikawa Areas

Long, thin Ishikawa prefecture runs along the Sea of Japan up into Noto Peninsula. Highlights of the seaside towns lining the west coast include Kanazawa, often described as a "Little Kyoto" thanks to its old wooden tea houses and geisha culture as well as its picturesque Japanese garden, Kenroku-en.
