This hot spring facility is located along the Mikuni Highway in Mikuni, Yuzawa Town, Minamiuonuma County. The natural spring water contains a lot of iron, and changes the water to a cloudy brown color when exposed to air. In the winter, both outdoor baths and indoor baths are available, where visitors can enjoy the snow, as well as a cafeteria, rest space and private rooms. Additionally, there are footbaths located outside the facility, as well as special pet footbaths which can be used (except in the winter) free of charge.

The simple alkaline hot spring water used is effective for illnesses such as nerve pain, muscle soreness, hemorrhoids and sensitivity to cold. It has an outodoor bath with natural views, as well as a stone indoor bath, which are convenient because they can easily be used while visiting the roadside station.

This hot spring bathhouse, whose baths are free-flowing spring water “kakenagashi” style from a source spring, is said to have been patronized by Yasunari Kawabata, author of the famous novel “Snow Country.” The public bathhouse, located in the hot spring district beyond the west entrance of Echigo-Yuzawa Station and the Yuzawa Kogen Ski Resort, has long been known as a health spa. Locals call it “Yamanbocha.” The waters of its hypotonic alkaline high temperature spring are on the hotter side and are said to leave the skin soft and silky smooth. As bathers often get dizzy from the heat just as they feel like they’ve fully warmed up, customers are encouraged to take a short break when they notice sweat running down their face.

This public bath is approximately a 20-minute walk from JR Echigo-Yuzawa Station and takes its name from Komako, the heroine from Kawabata Yasunari's novel Snow Country. While small the facility does have a resting room with tatami mats, a shop, and a display with documents from Snow Country. From the windows near the baths you can look out at the Yuzawa Mountain Range. Bath towel rentals are available making it easy to drop in empty handed. The spring water is rich in sulfur and calcium chloride with low alkalinity and hypotonicity and has a positive effect on neuralgia, myalgia, frozen shoulder, and chronic digestive illnesses.

The simple, lodge-style building, outfitted with large windows, has a simple indoor bathing area. The temperature of the waters of the bathhouse’alkaline simple spring are on the lower side, meaning bathers can enjoy long soaks without having to worry about heat-induced dizziness. The surrounding area is also dotted with outdoor destinations such as Tsuchitaru Nature Park and Daigenta Canyon, making this bathhouse the perfect place to relax after an activity-filled day. This hot spring inn, which also allows day trip bathing, is located 800 meters up in the mountains. The hot springs, which were discovered seven centuries ago by the monk Shirakumo, are famous for being one of the country's few hot springs said to relieve eye ailments. The secluded single-building inn was known to have been a favorite hot spring of the warlord Uesugi Kenshin. Bathers enjoying the elegant stone open-air baths can hear the sound of the wind moving through the trees and of water running in the clear streams. The baths also offer a great view of the starry night sky. The chloride spring waters are said to provide relief for cataracts, fundus hemorrhage, dry eye, and other eye ailments. The slightly lukewarm baths, fed entirely with spring water straight from the source, make them a good choice for a nice long bath. Bathers can also wash the eyes with the hot spring water just from sprue.

This is a health promotion facility located in Tsunan Town, Nakauonuma County, Niigata Prefecture. There is a variety of hot springs and visitors can enjoy hot spring baths as well as a swimming pool using the water from the hot spring. The Bade zone bath includes a “Togoru” mineral hot spring, “Utase-yu” waterfall bath, laying bath, and sauna. In the pool zone there is a 25 meter pool, a children’s pool, a water slide, and swimming classes are also held. There is also a training room and a lounge in the facility. This facility requiring visitors to wear swimsuits also attracts couples and families.

プールは温泉です！結構長い、大人も楽しめるスライダー付きです。浅い、子供用のプールと、真ん中が深いプールで140cm未満の子供は大人がつかなくてはならないようです。小さいながら温泉の浴場つきなので遊んだ後もすっかりスッキリして出られます。食堂付の休憩する場所があり、見学もできます。

Ryujin no Yakata is a hot spring facility for day use in the town of Tsunan, Naka-uonuma County, Niigata Prefecture. It is located near Ryugakubo Spring, renowned as one of the 100 finest natural springs in Japan, and it is one spot where visitors can experience the abundant water from this spring. There is a long, narrow, dragon-shaped rock bath called Ryujin no Yu and a wooden bath patterned after a shrine forest called Jomon no Yu. Men and women trade places every Wednesday. A spacious tatami room where customers can relax after bathing is available at no charge, and individual rooms are available for a fee. There is even a restaurant where visitors can enjoy set meals or noodles.

毎年キャンプの時に利用しています。こじんまりとしていますが、とても気に入っています。火焔型土器からお湯があふれる内風呂には縄文好きも私も娘も大変興奮し、外風呂には内風呂の窓にある小さなドアをおして出るのも楽しかったです。外の休憩所も大きくは無いけど、すごく心地良い空間でした。

To reach this municipal hot spring center take the bus from Matsudai Station on the Hokuetsu Express Hokuhoku Line for 25 minutes and get off at the Matsu-no-Yama Onsen bus stop. Both indoor and outdoor baths are available. Matsunoyama Onsen is counted as one of Echigo's top three most famous hot springs and draws its water from one of seven wellsprings. The spring is known to have a strong medical benefit and due to its high salinity, you won't feel a chill after leaving the baths even in the winter. A day-use hot spring bathhouse in a little township, Futai on Mikuni Kaido, ancient highway. It is located 30 minutes from the Yuzawa Interchange. This is the only publicly managed hot spring bathhouse in Yuzawa with a jacuzzi and sauna. The bathhouse only has a men’s and a women’s indoor bathing area, but each is equipped with two tubs and a sauna, and customers can enjoy a relaxing soak in the spacious rooms. The bathhouse is also replete with a variety of other facilities, including a restaurant, rest lounge, and permanent children’s art exhibition. Located close to Kagura Tashiro, Kagura Mitsumata, and other area ski resorts, as well, the bathhouse bustles with skiers in winter.

This day trip hot spring facility is located next to Koide Park and Koide Ski Area. The name Komami comes from the fact that it is at the foot of Mt. Komami-the perfect location to look at Mt. Komagatake. As the name suggests, both the indoor and the outdoor baths have excellent views of Mounts Komagatake, Nakanodake and Hakkai. It is a sulphate chloride spring, and its lukewarm temperature is great for slowly warming the body right to the core. The facility also has a guest room and a seminar room available, which can be used for group activities as well as corporate training and cultural activities.

A hot spring district adjoining the Ishiuchi Maruyama ski and snowboard resort in Minamiuonuma City. The waters of the area's sodium chloride spring are said to treat joint pain, muscle soreness, and nerve pain. Surrounded by ski resorts and hot springs, Hatsukaishi Onsen's sole hot spring hotel, Ishiuchi Yung Parunas, is notable for its abundant and variegated bathhouse facilities. The hotel has indoor and outdoor baths as well as a medicinal bath which contains finely chopped and dried chameleon plant, bamboo grass, and Thunberg's geranium combined with Morishita Jintan medicinal bath salts; a salt sauna; and a Shigaraki ware bath.
