A park adjoining the Tanegawa River, a tributary of the Miomote River. Trees and flowers, an arbor, and a playground are arrayed around the park’s central grass lawn. Inside the park, visitors can see rainbow trout swimming in an artificial river. Visitors can also enjoy seasonal scenery, including cherry blossoms in spring and fireflies in summer. A statue in the park depicts Aoto Buheiji, a retainer of Murakami Domain in the Edo period who invented the Tanegawa system, the first system in the world to successfully naturally breed salmon. The adjoining Iyoboya Kaikan museum provides information on Murakami salmon, which records state were even officially gifted to the nobility in distant Kyoto long ago during the Heian period.

    村上駅からバスを利用して中心地に 行き、そこから歩いてイヨボヤ会館の 隣にある公園です。近くには三面川が流れています。公園内には鮭のイラストされた場所などもあり、公園に流れる水は綺麗でした○

A health and exercise park which boasts spacious, 80 hectare grounds. Divided into five zones, the park was built to establish a comfortable space for prefectural residents, promote their health maintenance, and stimulate the community. The Nature Observation and Research Zone has a lovely, undulating bird watching trail, perfect for taking in a little forest therapy. Niigata Aicho Center Shiunji Saezuri no Sato is located inside the park; the facility holds bird watching sessions and engages in a variety of research regarding wild birds. The Health and Exercise Zone has a multipurpose field which can be used for soccer, rugby, and other recreational activities, and is also the location of Shiun no Sato, an activity and spa center. Many people come here to relax and soak in a hot spring bath after an activity-filled day.

To reach this park you can take a 10-minute bus from Tsukioka Station on the JR Uetsu Main Line, then walk two-minutes, or a 10-minute walk north-west from Tsukioka-Onsen. This multi-purpose green space is symbolized by Karion Tower and is one of the 100 most sacred places for couples in the country. During the spring the park is awash with the colors of the sakura cherry blossoms and the rapeseed flowers. There are lots of ways to enjoy yourself in the park including play equipment for children, a hall housing a sword collection, including blades by Tsukioka's own living national treasure Amata Akitsugu, and a glass studio where you can try making your own glass creations.

This nature park is in the center of Sasagawanagare. The coastline looks out at the Sea of Japan and stretches almost 80 kilometers from Senami Hotsprings in Murakami City to the edge of Yamagata, including Awashima Island. It's characterized by its dynamic coastline as created by the rough crashing waves.
