This battleship became a flagship of the Combined Fleet in December 1902. It was restored by the Mikasa Preservation Society in 1958 through domestic and international donations and government grants and was opened to the public for viewing. They have both 30 and 60-minute viewing plans available, as well as a plan for groups of 10 or more. Onboard you can learn about the history of the Mikasa and the warfare through a variety of displays that include items like a 36 radiotelegraph, 15-centimeter secondary battery operation room, and documents written in the hand of staff officer Akiyama Saneyuki. You can reach it by taking the Mikasa Junkan Bus from Keiyu Yokosuka-Chuo Station to the Mikasa Koen Stop.

Lots of interesting information and can pretty much access most of the ship. At only ¥600 (£~4) for adults its definitely worth it. Theres also a nice park located to the side.

The boat has a capacity of 60 people and during the 40-minute cruise you can watch fish swimming in their natural habitat from an observation room that resembles a space craft. The ocean comes alive with fish once you arrive at a certain point during the tour. From the deck you can also see Jogashima Ohashi Bridge, and Hanagure pier where large tuna ships dock. There are about 8 departures a day. Discount plans are available for shopping at Urari Marche.

In 724, Emperor Shomu ordered the Buddhist priest Gyoki to carve and enshrine 11-headed Kanzeon, Yakushi Nyorai, and Shaka Nyorai statues here. The temple was founded as a place to pray for the safety of the Emperor, national peace, and the prosperity of the people. During the Showa and Heisei periods, the approach to the temple was improved and the Yakushido sanctuary was renovated. This temple retains vestiges of mountain worship, rare today in Zushi and Kamakura. The temple continues to proclaim the Buddhist teachings today. Its 400-year-old woodland elaecarpus tree has been selected as one of the 100 most important trees in the prefecture.
