    Katsuretsuan Bashamichi Main Shop is a restaurant which has continued making cutlets as one of the unchanging tastes of Yokohama since it was founded in 1927. Its secret sauce is superb as carefully selected ingredients, special fresh bread crumbs, vegetables and fruit are stewed for two days and set aside for one day. A cutlet brought into Kannai (a part of Yokohama) by a foreign chef was reshaped and transformed into a unique Japanese-style cutlet by the first owner. It is a must-try dish that allows you to feel tradition and commitment. It is one minute walk from Exit 9 at Kannai Station on the Yokohama Municipal Subway Line.

    Located a three minute walk from Bashamichi Station on the Minatomirai Line. A long-standing and local Yokohama gyu-nabe (beef hotpot) restaurant which was established in 1895. The hall from the front entrance to the reception desk is walled in with a Japanese cedar lattice, creating a fairy tale-like atmosphere. Inside the restaurant’s elegant atmosphere, you can enjoy nabe course meals, a la carte items such as kushi-yaki skewers, steaks, gyu-meshi beef rice bowls, and more. The lunch kaiseki course, changed monthly, is limited to 30 customers per day. The restaurant buys its domestic kuroge wagyu beef by the head, enabling it to offer a variety of cuts of meat for enjoying in gyu-nabe, shabu-shabu, gyu-nikomi, and other dishes.

    This is a brewpub inside Yokohama Beer brewery, about seven minutes’ walk from JR Sakuragicho Station and JR Kannai Station. This is a casual restaurant with a warm, comfortable atmosphere where you can enjoy all five of Yokohama Beer’s styles fresh on tap, as well as their original beer cocktails and more. They have a full menu made with local Kanagawa ingredients in dishes made to pair with their beers. Their lunches are a particularly good deal, with a daily lunch special and various lunch plates to make the perfect match with a lunchtime beer.

    This Japanese kappo cuisine restaurant is a one-minute walk from Kannai Station and can also be reached by getting off at the Bashamichi bus stop and taking an immediate left followed by another left. The longstanding restaurant opened in 1872. The tatami room on the third floor can accommodate up to 40 people and can be reserved for parties, wakes, class reunions, and other events. Skillfully prepared kaiseki course cuisine is served on the third floor, while customers can enjoy eel rice bowls, yakitori chicken skewers, and other more casual dishes in the diner-style area on the second floor. The restaurant's ikadayaki baby eel skewers require an advance reservation. Originally an eel restaurant, the establishment still serves kabayaki broiled eel and unaju eel rice boxes, and these are also available for takeout.

    This is an upscale establishment for unagi, or grilled eel since 1872. Wakana is a hidden gem for the authentic fish feast in Yokohama city center. Service is courteous but no English-speaking staff...

    Izuhei Bashamichihonten is an inarizushi (sushi in fried tofu) shop which features a rich taste and unique shape, and has continued to preserve its old reputation and traditional taste since it was founded in 1839. Its inarizushi cut in half into long, narrow strips is superb with a sweetness and pungency. It also sells laver rolls, medium-sized sushi rolls and pressed sushi with sardines. It is three minutes’ walk from the North Exit at JR Kannai Station.

    よこはまウォーキングの途中で立ち寄りました。横浜ではかなり有名ないなり寿司です。 大きなお揚げでしっかり巻き、長い棒状のものを切って２個にしています。１２個入りを購入。 自宅で開けてみると、思った以上に１個が大きく（長く？）、１人前という６個で十分お腹いっぱいになりました。お揚げは甘めですが味が濃すぎるわけではなく、リピーターが続出する訳が解かりました。 コレ、病みつきになる一品です！

    関内を歩き回って見つけたお店、店名もいいなと思って入ってみました。 席は外にもあり、中はカウンターがメイン。 メニューも名前から想像がつかないものが出てきて驚かされましたが美味しかったです。 横浜マラソン前日ということで店員さんはお客さんが少ないと言ってましたが、僕らは翌日走ってました。 店員さんと直接話すことはあまりしてませんが、カウンター越しで見ると楽しくなります。

Kanagawa prefecture acts as an extension of the Tokyo metropolis that spills over into coastal towns, most notably Yokohama city, heavily populated and known for its Chinatown and seaside attractions. Just the right distance for a day trip out of Tokyo, Kanagawa is home to some of Tokyo’s most accessible beaches, including around Kamakura, best known for its Big Buddha. Visitors can also travel a little farther afield for a weekend at Hakone onsen town.
