This trick art museum is inside Yokohama Daisekai, one of Chinatown’s largest Chinese Theme Parks, located about one minute walk from Motomachi-Chukagai Station. Stretching from the third floor to the top of the building, this facility features displays to exercise your brain, trick the eyes, and display 3D art. There are paintings using optical illusions to trick the eye, like the Flying Carpet or Flying Dragon, the Science Mystery Experience where you can go inside a soap bubble, and Japan’s first Laser Art Theater. You can touch and photograph all the art displays, and there’s enough strangeness to please kids and adults of all ages.

Kanagawa Areas

around-area-map

Kanagawa prefecture acts as an extension of the Tokyo metropolis that spills over into coastal towns, most notably Yokohama city, heavily populated and known for its Chinatown and seaside attractions. Just the right distance for a day trip out of Tokyo, Kanagawa is home to some of Tokyo’s most accessible beaches, including around Kamakura, best known for its Big Buddha. Visitors can also travel a little farther afield for a weekend at Hakone onsen town.
