    Located at a tourist facility inside Gora Park in Hakone Town, Ashigarashimo County, Kanagawa Prefecture, this place hosts many workshops that convey the joy of craftsmanship. There are a variety of classes that guests can experience inside including glass-blowing, pottery, sandblasting, and dry flowers. Guests can participate without needing a reservation and since the time needed ranges from 15 minutes to 90 minutes, it is easy to stop by and visit during a drive or while sightseeing. There is also a gallery that sells works made by young artists and craft miscellaneous goods.

    Kanagawa Pref. Ashigarashimogunhakonemachi Yumoto Hydrangea bridge
    This is a 20 to 60-minute rickshaw tour around Hakone-Yumoto’s historic hot spring district, pulled around by a muscular driver. The driver takes passengers to the famous local spots including Tamadare Falls and Yuba, with its small roads and old-fashioned atmosphere along the Hayakawa River. In addition to the regular places, they also visit the best of Yumoto’s hidden gems and seasonal spots. Tours depart from Ajisai-bashi Bridge, around a two-minute walk from Hakone-Yumoto Station. Guests can take a commemorative photo with rickshaw for free.

From mid-December to early May, the farm is open on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, when you can enjoy strawberry-picking without a reservation (based on arrival order). It is the only spot in Kamakura where you can experience strawberry-picking.

    This two-story wooden workshop facility is in Tahara Furusato Park in the eastern part of Hadano City. It has a farm stand, a soba restaurant called Shinonome, a soba making workshop, and a factory for making pickled vegetables. A visit here provides the chance to enjoy ni-hachi soba noodles made with an 80/20 buckwheat flour/wheat flour mix that is fresh ground, fresh made, and fresh boiled. They make their noodles with spring water from the foot of Tanzawa mountains, that's been designated as one of the top 100 Famous Water. The instruction at their soba noodle making workshops is easy to follow, making it great for beginners. You can reach the facility by taking a bus from the Odakyu Line's Hadano Station to the Nakaniwa stop and walking about three minutes.

    This pleasure cruise departs from the banks of Sagami Lake Park year-round. It's about an eight-minute walk from Sagamiko Station on the JR Chuo Line in Sagamihara City, Kanagawa Prefecture. The Swan Maru does a 25-minute tour of Lake Sagami. It began operating in 1984 as the sister ship of the first swan shaped pleasure boat in Japan. Whatever the season you can relax onboard and take in Sagami Lake's surroundings. They rent swan shaped peddle boats, rowboats, and fishing boats too. They'll also let you borrow blankets and other items to keep you warm if needed, free of charge.

    A nature park situated on a slope next to Okura Ridge, a mountain path leading up Mt. To. The park has a grass lawn and arbor which visitors can use to take a break; the park is also a great and easily accessible destination for a picnic or forest walk. The park is divided into five areas - the Kashiwa no Mori, Mizuki no Mori, Shide no Mori, Aburachan no Mori, and Sasachi no Mori. Each area is outfitted with walking paths and has beautiful fresh verdure in spring and fall foliage in autumn for visitors to take in. There's also a parking area about three kilometers away, making it easy to come here by car.

Their all-weather Grape House facility hosts weddings, flea markets, and barbecues, supplying everything you need for a cook-out. There are also fee-based activities available year-round like mochi rice pounding and horse riding. You can try riding their firewood powered cart, too.

    This strawberry farm is located about a 10-minute walk from the Miyata bus stop of the Keikyu Bus. Although sweetened condensed milk is offered with all the strawberries one can eat in 30 minutes, these carefully cultivated strawberries are plenty juicy without any milk. The five varieties of Tochiotome, Yayoihime, Benihoppe, Oish-C-beri, and Yotsuboshi are grown here. The farm's rich strawberry soft ice cream, that has a slightly different flavor every day, depending on the variety of strawberry used, is sold on the premises as well as handmade strawberry jam, and beautiful vegetables cultivated with organic fertilizer.

    This summer cruise is operated by the Tokyowan Ferry company, which connects Kanagawa Prefecture's Kurihama with Chiba Prefecture's Kanaya on the opposite shore. The cruise operates out of Kurihama Port a 10-minute drive from the Sahara Interchange on the Yokohama Yokosuka Road, and Kanaya Port a five-minute drive from the Kanaya Interchange on the Futtsu-Tateyama Road. From late July to the end of August, the company operates scheduled round-trip cruises. A beer garden is held on the boat, and passengers can enjoy all-you-can-drink while taking in the boats plying Tokyo Bay and being caressed by soothing sea breezes.

Kanagawa prefecture acts as an extension of the Tokyo metropolis that spills over into coastal towns, most notably Yokohama city, heavily populated and known for its Chinatown and seaside attractions. Just the right distance for a day trip out of Tokyo, Kanagawa is home to some of Tokyo’s most accessible beaches, including around Kamakura, best known for its Big Buddha. Visitors can also travel a little farther afield for a weekend at Hakone onsen town.
