    Kanagawa Pref. Miurashi Misakimachi Jougashima
An aesthetic landscape in Jogashima Island, Misaki-machi, Miura City. A sea cave on the southern tip of Jogashima Island created by the power of nature offset with the vastness of the Pacific Ocean is a sight to behold. The site can be located by foot from Jogashima Park located on the eastern side of the island.

This is a cape located in between Shichirigahama and Yuigahama Beaches. The cape is designated as a historic landmark and now in the area that has become a beachfront park stands a stone monument to the legend of Nitta Yoshisada. According to this legend, when Nitta Yoshisada and his soldiers tried to attack the Kamakura shogunate in 1333, he prayed for the tide to withdraw, and after casting a sword into the sea, a tidal flat appeared that allowed his forces to easily advance across.

Kanagawa Areas

around-area-map

Kanagawa prefecture acts as an extension of the Tokyo metropolis that spills over into coastal towns, most notably Yokohama city, heavily populated and known for its Chinatown and seaside attractions. Just the right distance for a day trip out of Tokyo, Kanagawa is home to some of Tokyo’s most accessible beaches, including around Kamakura, best known for its Big Buddha. Visitors can also travel a little farther afield for a weekend at Hakone onsen town.
