    Tokyo Ota-ku Ikegami 1-1-1
This is the head temple of the Nichiren school of Buddhism which is located in Ota City, Tokyo and is known as the temple where Saint Nichiren passed away (his deathbed). After the death of saint Nichiren, the then lord of Musashi Province, Ikegami Munenaka donated the temple grounds. On the grounds, there are many cultural assets of national importance such as the Ikegami Honmonji five-storied pagoda and a wooden seated statue of the Saint Nichiren. There are many Tangible Cultural Properties existing within Tokyo. A commemoration of the death of Saint Nichiren held on the 10th, 11th, 12th and 13th of October every year to commemorate his death which occurred on the 13th—the “Oeshiki ceremony”—is celebrated at many places throughout the country but the most prestigious festival is conducted here on the evening of the 12th when some 300,000 people gather to visit the shrine. The highlight is the “Mando” (Buddhist lantern festival) rite in which about 3,000 people carry sacred lanterns decorated with cherry blossoms, called the “Mando neri kuyo” or Buddhist lantern procession. The nearest station to the temple is Ikegami Station.

The temple and its surrounding are located neatly and orderly. Locals visit this place, and i hardly see any tourists there. Good if you like to enjoy a place where it is away from the crowds...

This shrine in the Kita-Shinagawa district of Tokyo’s Shinagawa City is one of 10 Tokyo shrines where prayers are offered for the protection of Tokyo and people’s peace and security, and it enshrines Daikokuten (the god of wealth) who is one of the Tokai Shichifukujin (seven gods of fortune). The shrine was established by shogun Minamoto no Yoritomo in 1187 to enshrine Amenohirinome-no-Mikoto, the guardian deity for safety at sea and for answering of prayers. On the premises are many sights to see such as the soryu torii gate with sculptures of soryu dragons (with a dragon climbing on the left pillar and a dragon descending on the right pillar), and the ichiryumanbai spring where legend has it that washing money with the water and then subsequently using that money will enable one to receive substantially more money in return.

This shrine has Konohanasakuya-hime, the goddess of household harmony and safe and easy childbirth, as the shrine deity. The building is old and was built more than 800 years ago. It is said that it is the place where Masako Hojo, the wife of Minamoto no Yoritomo, rested as she was on her way to Mt. Fuji to pray for the safety of her husband who had gone to war. The origin of the shrine was from her putting her hands together while facing Sengen Shrine that was in the direction of Mt. Fuji. You can see Mt. Fuji on clear days even now, and admire the scenery that Hojo worshiped. The red stamp that has a different design every month is popular.

"This old temple built in the Kamakura period (1185-1333) is also known as Hebikubo Shrine. Also known as ""The White Snake of Tokyo,"" it has the sun goddess Amaterasu Omikami as its main enshrined deity. This is due to the story of a white snake that had once settled in a pond and appeared in a dream begging to be returned to its original home. This led to the establishment of Bentensha Shrine, where the white snake is enshrined. Shrines dedicated to dragon gods and white snakes are said to be ""mi ga tatsu"" (written using the characters for snake and dragon, but pronounced the same as the expression for ""standing up""), and are reputed to be places to pray for success in life. Other sacred virtues of this Tokyo power spot include warding off disaster and inviting good luck, prosperity in business, safety of one's family and physical health."

It is thought that the current Ontake Shopping Street and Ontakesan Station have developed from shops that were open to worshipers. The main shrine at the center of the precincts has been designated Cultural Property of the ward. Its late Edo wall engravings are a highlight. The roughly 100-hectare artificial island of Keihinjima is located to the north of Haneda Airport. It mainly hosts factories, but this municipal park extends about one kilometer along the eastern coast. Since it's right near Haneda Airport, it's a great spot for watching airplanes taking off and landing. The open lawn at the northern end of the park has a barbecue area and gets crowded with families on weekends. There are paved walking trails throughout the park which are great for walking and running year-round. Public toilets and free parking are also available.
