It is a department store built inside a train terminal, with one of the largest sales floors in the Kanto area, directly connected to the west exit of Ikebukuro Station on each line, and was opened in 1962. The feature is that each floor is divided into sections from No.1 to 11. Each floor offers a variety of daily necessities, including food from the food floors on the first and second basement floors and food product exhibitions held in the event halls, as well as cosmetics, fashion, household goods, toys, and living goods. In addition, the 11th to 15th floors are restaurant areas, where a variety of gourmet foods including cuisine from different countries are gathered on all these five floors.

It’s rather a shopping mall than a department store. I hadn’t been there for the past three yeas due to Covid. My friend and I enjoyed window shopping on our way to Sushi Zanmai.

Tokyo Areas

around-area-map

The setting of countless iconic movie scenes and the inspiration for songs, poetry, and literature worldwide, Tokyo barely requires an introduction. It’s hard for the kaleidoscopic neon lights, wacky pop culture, and some of the world’s tallest structures not to instill excitement in any first-time visitor to Tokyo, whether you’re in the very center of the hustle and bustle in Shinjuku or Shibuya or looking in from the quieter suburbs.
