Comprised of five buildings, the Sky Circus observatory complex and a restaurant floor offering good views can be found in the tallest Sunshine 60 building. A planetarium operated by the Konica Minolta company. Newly remodeled and reopened in December 2015, this popular attraction saw some 100 thousand visitors in the first three months after reopening. The planetarium has won high praise for its realistic night sky, which recreates the color and twinkling of individual stars, and its two types of premium seating. The “lawn” seats allow guests to lie down on artificial grass, while the “cloud” seats make for a fluffy bed to enjoy the show. In addition to its standard program, the planetarium also screens between two and three additional programs, such as seasonal shows.

子供向けの絵本の挿絵を多く描いていたいわさきちひろさんの自宅兼アトリエの跡地にあります。現在、黒柳徹子さんがこの美術館と安曇野にある美術館、両方の館長を務めているそうです。大きな通りから少しだけ中に入った閑静な場所で、不整形な建物であるゆえにその隙間となる中庭が落ち着いた雰囲気を醸し出していました。実際にご本人が使ったアトリエをそのまま残してあるのが、とても興味深かったです。

This museum, located inside Sunshine City in Ikebukuro, is Japan's first dedicated to displaying materials on the ancient Orient. Designed to be a facility where visitors can learn about history by actually seeing it, exhibits include stone tools used by ancient peoples, recreations and models of ancient settlements, clay vessels and handicrafts exchanged between East and West excavated from archeological digs, and numerous priceless artefacts exhumed in Syria. There's also a movie room where you can watch a short video summarizing the history of the area from the origins of civilization through to the time of the Silk Road. The museum's shop sells original merchandise.

It has about 200 plum trees that are nearly 40 years old, and it is known as a famous place for plum trees. In the early spring, seeing the flowers bloom all at once is an amazing sight. The Plum Festival is held every year in early March, and there are events that cannot be enjoyed in a single day such as hayashi music and Oedo dance performances. A 20-minute walk from the Toei Mita Line's Nishitakashimadaira Station, there are other sites including a local museum, art museum and Akatsuka Park (Joshi Ruins of Akatsuka Castle).
