A restaurant specializing in goosefish cuisine located a five-minute walk from JR Akihabara Station and Kanda Station. This history-leaden restaurant was established at the end of the Edo period in 1830. Originally opened as a loach restaurant close to what is now Kyobashi 3 Chome, since the modern Taisho period this establishment has been beloved as the only dedicated goosefish restaurant in Tokyo. The old-fashioned and imposing restaurant building itself has been designated a Historic Building by the Tokyo government. In addition to the main dining area, the restaurant has relaxing private dining rooms where you can savor anko nabe, a flavorful hotpot steeped in tradition made with only the freshest goosefish from the Kazamaura Sea.

It was the first time for me to try monkfish. We enjoyed it with various cooking styles and they were all good. We also liked their old, traditional building.

"A long-standing Japanese izakaya pub and restaurant established in 1905 which is located a short distance south of Ogawamachi Station. Identifiable by its old-fashioned exterior and red paper lantern inscribed with characters reading ""dozeu"" (an old way of spelling ""dojo,"" the Japanese word for loach), after dark, this popular restaurant often sees lines of waiting customers forming outside its door. The restaurant has space for 120 to 130 customers, and offers table seating as well as raised tatami mat seating, and one of its draws is its suitability for holding banquets and parties. The restaurant's signature dish is its horse meat sashimi, and customers can choose between two types - marbled with fat or lean red meat. The restaurant also offers a full array of dishes perfect for snacking on, including pickled dishes, yakitori grilled chicken skewers, and kushikatsu fried food skewers."

Located close to exit A7 of Tokyo Metro Jimbocho Station. This cafe has been a local favorite ever since it first opened in 1955. The totem pole, retro red telephone, and other objects placed outside near the door give off an eccentric atmosphere. Conversely, inside, the cafe resembles a mountain cabin, and the brick walls are covered with graffiti left by patrons, engendering a retro atmosphere. The establishment's dim lighting helps customers to relax and forget the hustle and bustle of the city. One of the most popular items on the menu is the fresh strawberry juice, poured to the glass brim. Made with ripe strawberries and finely crushed ice, it can be enjoyed like a dessert.

This specialty shop serves Brittany inspired crepes and galettes. Their Provencal galette with cheese, tomato, egg, and anchovies is especially popular. Tokyo Areas

around-area-map

The setting of countless iconic movie scenes and the inspiration for songs, poetry, and literature worldwide, Tokyo barely requires an introduction. It’s hard for the kaleidoscopic neon lights, wacky pop culture, and some of the world’s tallest structures not to instill excitement in any first-time visitor to Tokyo, whether you’re in the very center of the hustle and bustle in Shinjuku or Shibuya or looking in from the quieter suburbs.
