    In addition to being the oldest in Japan, this botanical garden also boasts one of the most distinguished histories of any such facility in the world. An amazing variety of plants grow on the garden's 160 thousand square meter grounds. The garden is mostly open to the public and is a popular destination for locals to relax, but note that it is not in fact a public park, so please mind your manners.
