    Tokyo Ota-ku Den-en-chofu 1-55-12
This shrine has Konohanasakuya-hime, the goddess of household harmony and safe and easy childbirth, as the shrine deity. The building is old and was built more than 800 years ago. It is said that it is the place where Masako Hojo, the wife of Minamoto no Yoritomo, rested as she was on her way to Mt. Fuji to pray for the safety of her husband who had gone to war. The origin of the shrine was from her putting her hands together while facing Sengen Shrine that was in the direction of Mt. Fuji. You can see Mt. Fuji on clear days even now, and admire the scenery that Hojo worshiped. The red stamp that has a different design every month is popular.

A Shinto shrine located in Kishi-machi, Kita City. This shrine serves as the head shrine for all Inari (fox god) shrines in the Kanto region. "This old temple built in the Kamakura period (1185-1333) is also known as Hebikubo Shrine. Also known as ""The White Snake of Tokyo,"" it has the sun goddess Amaterasu Omikami as its main enshrined deity. This is due to the story of a white snake that had once settled in a pond and appeared in a dream begging to be returned to its original home. This led to the establishment of Bentensha Shrine, where the white snake is enshrined. Shrines dedicated to dragon gods and white snakes are said to be ""mi ga tatsu"" (written using the characters for snake and dragon, but pronounced the same as the expression for ""standing up""), and are reputed to be places to pray for success in life. Other sacred virtues of this Tokyo power spot include warding off disaster and inviting good luck, prosperity in business, safety of one's family and physical health."

    Tokyo Meguro-ku Jiyugaoka 1-24-12
A Shinto shrine in Jiyugaoka, Meguro City, Tokyo. Just when the shrine was erected is unclear. It is recorded that the shrine was built during a time when it was popular to visit Kumano Shrine; local residents formed a group and visited the shrine to formally receive and take back a portion of the shrine's deity and house it here. This area was once known as Tanibatake, and the shrine is popularly known as Tanibatake no Gongen-sama. The approach to the shrine is somewhat long with several torii gates standing over it, and the grounds are far quieter and lusher than anything one might expect to find in central Tokyo. The brilliant main shrine building is painted crimson. Kumano-jinja Shrine is also a famous power spot in Jiyugaoka. The shrine is believed to aid worshipers in finding love and in having children, and many women come here to receive a koi-mikuji love fortune slip. In spring, beautiful cherry trees blossom near the entrance.

    こちらは、自由が丘駅より徒歩7分くらい、ヒルサイド通りから入ります。 白い鳥居から、そこそこ長い参道を歩くと赤い鳥居の向こうに、鮮やかな本殿があります。 沢山の人が訪れていました。

Ontake faith, patrons believe worshipping there three times provides the same merit as a pilgrimage to Kiso's sacred Mt. Ontake. It is thought that the current Ontake Shopping Street and Ontakesan Station have developed from shops that were open to worshipers. "Located here is a ""chinjugami,"" a type of guardian deity that watches over the surrounding area, and this one in particular has been here since the area was called Kamimeguro-mura. The shrine is mainly dedicated to Susanoo, a Shinto deity associated with eradicating disease. Also enshrined here is the Sun Goddess, Amaterasu, and Sugawara Michizane , a Shinto deity for learning and scholarship. At the front you can find stone steps formed from a natural cliff that makes up the ""Fuji Sengen Shrine Mountain Path,"" which until 1985 was a spot where visitors could look up at Mt. Fuji. Nowadays, the shrine is mostly associated with warding off bad spirits and celebrating different stages of life, including a rite of passage for newborns called ""miyamairi"", and for children reaching the age of seven, five, and three called ""shichi-go-san."" Ever since the Tensho era (1573-1593) during an enshrinement, there are records and legends preserved here regarding disease and illnesses unknown to ""ujigami,"" a type of guardian deity that wards off sickness."

The setting of countless iconic movie scenes and the inspiration for songs, poetry, and literature worldwide, Tokyo barely requires an introduction. It’s hard for the kaleidoscopic neon lights, wacky pop culture, and some of the world’s tallest structures not to instill excitement in any first-time visitor to Tokyo, whether you’re in the very center of the hustle and bustle in Shinjuku or Shibuya or looking in from the quieter suburbs.
