Many events by artists and performers are held in the event space on the basement floor and the eighth floor as well as the floor with the grand piano. There is a café on the rooftop, and at night it is an adult space where you can enjoy music while drinking and smoking.

On the main building's nine floors including one basement floor and eight floors above ground the store sells items such as literature, foreign books, specialist books, magazines and picture books. There is even the Shinjuku Medical Book Center that offers items specific to the medical field, the Kinokuniya Hall which is home to performances for drama and rakugo, and the Event Hall that hosts book-signings. The annex carries comics, light novels, CDs and DVDs.

Inside the shop, you can search for your desired book with the help of a search machine, or you can use the desks and chairs provided to choose your books carefully. There is also a café on the fourth floor.

Open until midnight on weekdays, the shop is the perfect place to casually stop by on the way home from work.

The shop also sells renowned select handmade accessories and tenugui dyed in patterns sold only at this specific shop. Finally, the shop accepts orders for existing tenugui with a customer's name added or even completely original designs.
