'Haku' is the terminology for gold, silver or platinum which has been rolled into film sheets, chief among them being gold leaf sheets. Traditionally used in shrine and temple structures, for Buddhist images, and used on artistic screens and murals, nowadays metal leafing is widely being used in other interior and cosmetic fields. At Hakuza, the metal leafing is extensively used in the tableware, interior decoration and accessories, as well as in the cosmetics, and western confections in collaboration with pastry chef, Mr. Sunami.
