Isehiro is a veteran yakitori skewered chicken shop since 1921 located at Kyobashi Station near Tokyo Station’s Yaesu Exit. Guests enjoy professionally prepared yakitori featuring meat from hens in their prime as well as other carefully selected ingredients like leeks and shiitake mushrooms. The quaint interior has a counter, Japanese style tatami mat rooms, and private seating available for gatherings.

Nice small traditional place with outstanding food. Good service that even tries to speak English. The location is very special with typical architecture and decoration. Simple but with a lot of...

This yakitori shop opened in 2016 and its yakitori made with fresh jiyodori chicken that is full of umami are carefully grilled over Tosa binchotan (high-grade charcoal produced from ubame oak) for outstanding consistency and juiciness. They also offer various other items on the menu such as their specialty 100% soba (buckwheat flour) noodles served on a basket steamer, mizutaki (chicken and vegetables boiled in plain water or dashi and served with dipping sauce) and shabu-shabu. Their popular skewers are “toridoki”—jiyodori chicken thigh and breast meat wrapped in skin. The relaxed ambience of an old Japanese-style house is also appealing.

There are only two stores in Japan. A famous restaurant of Yakitori. It provides fresh chickens. My recommendation is Tukune. Chicken and duck minced taste sweet soy sauce. This is intertwined with...

    Tokyo Hachioujishi Kamiyugi 1602-4
An irori-yaki skewer barbecue restaurant located in Kamiyugi, Hachioji City, Tokyo. Diners are provided with skewers of vegetables, seafood, river fish, and specially raised hinadori (young chicken) to grill over an irori hearth placed in the center of a sunken kotatsu table. Hinatoriyama is also renowned for its fuku-fuku tofu-nabe, a hotpot dish which comes with a tofu specially made with Hokkaido soybeans and natural Minamidaitojima nigari bittern.

Tokyo Sumida-ku Oshiage 1-1-2 Tokyo Sky Tree Town/Tokyo Solamachi 7F
This is the Skytree Town branch of the historic Japanese foods merchant in Nihonbashi. This is a jointly operated project by the 8th generation Konosuke Yamada and his daughter Ichino. The lunch menu has only three standards items; Oyakodon bowl, an Iki-Oyakodon which has extra egg, and other seasonal Oyakodon dishes. During dinner hours, the menu changes to gamecock cuisine courses. There is only counter seating, but the restaurant has a spacious leisurely atmosphere.

Simply delicious. Chicken and eggs are cooked together with slices of onions and simmered in a savory soup made from soy sauce and dashi (Japanese cooking stock). We had the small serving. Not...

    Tokyo Chuou-ku Nihombashiningyouchou 1-17-10
Founded in 1760, Tamahide is a restaurant that specializes in poultry cuisine that was developed by a falconer that served the shogunate. Their Tokyo game foul torisuki (from sukiyaki) was famous during the Edo period for its traditional flavors from before the Western influence on Japan. Try their famous oyako-don (chicken and egg on rice) for lunch and their torisuki for dinner. They also offer completely private dining rooms for anywhere from 4 to 50 guests.

Visited at 11:50 on December 4, 2019. After starting to line up in front of the store, it took 40 minutes to sit down and get an order. Ordered 1800 yen for Oyakodon Evolution with thigh and...

Tokyo Areas

around-area-map

The setting of countless iconic movie scenes and the inspiration for songs, poetry, and literature worldwide, Tokyo barely requires an introduction. It’s hard for the kaleidoscopic neon lights, wacky pop culture, and some of the world’s tallest structures not to instill excitement in any first-time visitor to Tokyo, whether you’re in the very center of the hustle and bustle in Shinjuku or Shibuya or looking in from the quieter suburbs.
