Maison Dandoy was founded some 185 years ago and this is the brand's first international location. The shop's waffles are so delicious, even the king of Belgium has snuck out to buy them. The shop's biscuits are imported direct from Belgium, while its Belgium waffles are faithfully made according to the original recipe in the shop-after a two or three minute wait, you can enjoy a fresh, toasty waffle hot off the press. The shop's Brussels waffles make for perfect souvenirs and are crisp on the outside, moist on the inside, and redolent of the aromas of vanilla and butter.

Here you can enjoy healthy baked sweets and traditional treats from New England in the U.S. Particularly popular are the authentic American apple pies, made by baking fresh, uncooked apples wrapped as-is in the pie crust; and the rich, creamy New York cheesecake. The shop's fluffy pancake lunch is only served on weekdays.

    Must visit if you love pancakes. After 10 am the have the best pancakes I’ve ever eaten in this tiny restaurant. Worth the trip if you are in Kyoto.
