    The Tokyo Dome opened as Japan’s first covered stadium in 1988. With its dome shaped room and artificial turf field it’s the home stadium of the Yomiuri Giants. The Tokyo Dome is the core of the Tokyo Dome City urban entertainment area and doesn’t only host baseball games but also a variety of other events including concerts and exhibitions. Near entry gate 21 you’ll find the Baseball hall of fame museum where you can see uniforms of popular players and learn about the history of baseball.

    This multipurpose sports facility located in Tokyo’s Chofu City was originally a ballpark but is now used as a venue for track and field competitions as well as large concerts. It is the home stadium of J League FC Tokyo and the Tokyo Verdy 1969 teams. The grounds are divided into a natural grass field and an artificial turf field, and can support a variety of matches. There are also restaurants and a shop that sells official FC Tokyo/Tokyo Verdy merchandise on the premises.

    This sports complex in the Jinnan district of Tokyo’s Shibuya City is comprised of two gymnasiums, an indoor pool, and an outdoor futsal court. It was constructed for the 1964 Tokyo Olympics. Both the First and Second Gymnasiums were designed by the representative Japanese architect Kenzo Tange, and have a suspension style roof design that is unusual even by global standards. In addition to hosting matches for volleyball, futsal, handball, and basketball, it is often used for events such as concerts and martial arts tournaments.

    This metropolitan park, opened in 1974, is located a 10-minute walk from Takashimadaira Station on the Toei Mita Line. The park sprawls east to west from the Takashimadaira housing complex to Metropolitan Expressway Route No. 5. The park's biggest highlight the huge fountain in the center. Situated in the center of a water play area for children, showers of water pour from the dramatic fountain structure like waterfalls. This is a popular leisure destination, and in summer when open, one can see large numbers of children running around with bathing suits and squirt guns and other water toys. The park also has an abundance of untouched natural forest that will make you forget an expressway runs right next door.

    This Western-style garden was created with the aim of commemorating for future generations the achievements of Emperor Meiji. Serving as an oasis in the heart of Tokyo, here visitors can take in seasonal natural beauty. The park is outfitted with a variety of sports and culture facilities, such as the Meiji Memorial Picture Gallery, as well as Jingu Stadium and other sports facilities, and a children's park and playground area. In addition, the park holds seasonal, large-scale events such as the Jingu Gaien Fireworks Festival in the summer and the Jingu Gaien Ginkgo Festival in the fall, attracting large numbers of visitors throughout the year.

    老朽化対策とユニバーサルデザインの 改修ということで工事中です。完成は2019年6月末までということだそうです。有名な球場だけに一目みておきたかったのですが残念です。改修工事が終わったらまた訪れたいと思います。
