- The plateau 340 meters high in the Kiyosumi Mountains is well-known in the Kanto region as an exquisite place for hydrangeas. In 1951, the Reverend Minowa Hiuke revived this abandoned Buddhist temple and planted hydrangeas, which extensively cover an area called Tenbaien around Myohosho-ji Temple—with over 20,000 plants. Every July, the entire area is beautifully adorned with blue, purple, and white flowers blooming.

The Boso Peninsula forms the main body of Chiba prefecture, and this is where you’ll find its endless warm water beaches and jagged mountains. Further inland, Narita - most famous as the home of Narita Airport - is a secret haven of tradition and history in the form of centuries-old Shinshoji Temple and quaint wooden Edo buildings. Chiba prefecture is also home to both Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea.
