"This white lighthouse, which was built at the southernmost tip of the Boso Peninsula in Chiba Prefecture in 1869, is also known as the ""Swan Lighthouse"" because of its shining white light. There is a walking trail around the lighthouse, and many people enjoy walking along the cape in the sea breeze."

It was windy when I visited and I didnt climb the lighthouse but walking around was pleasant, it has a well kept, clean and there are shops and restaurants around.

"This bridge spans the Nagao River in Shirahama-cho, Minamiboso City. The triple arch stone bridge was made with stone quarried locally. The bridge's name literally means ""glasses,"" a name it gained because it resembles a pair of glasses when the legs of its arches reflect off the surface of the river. Built with funds donated by residents in 1888, the bridge later survived heavy floods and the Great Kanto Earthquake of 1923 and is famed for its extreme sturdiness. The bridge has been designated a Japan Society of Civil Engineers Admiration of Civil Engineering Heritage, as well as a Tangible Cultural Property by Chiba Prefecture. In winter, the bridge's legs and railing are lit up at night."

Chiba Areas

around-area-map

The Boso Peninsula forms the main body of Chiba prefecture, and this is where you’ll find its endless warm water beaches and jagged mountains. Further inland, Narita - most famous as the home of Narita Airport - is a secret haven of tradition and history in the form of centuries-old Shinshoji Temple and quaint wooden Edo buildings. Chiba prefecture is also home to both Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea.
