The shop’s philosophy is seasonal ingredients when in season, and some products may not be available depending on the time of year.

    Ota-ya, makers of Edo fans in Tokyo, moved to Boshu because of the war, and since then has been making beautiful fans for four generations. There is shop where visitors can buy fans made from toweling, crepe paper and fans to compliment yukatas. There are also many original, one-of-a-kind products too.

    6月平日朝、車を房総半島南端まで走らせ、10時頃に白浜に到着。オフシーズンのせいか、周辺全体が静まり返っています。周辺の店構えも昭和へのタイムスリップ感があります。まず目的のせと食堂に行くと運悪く不定休の休日だったのか閉店。すぐ近くにあった第2候補のさざえ屋が開店しているのが見えたので店の前に行ってメニューを見ると、お勧めメニューや値段から観光客相手の露骨さが感じられて一旦敬遠。他にないか周辺を散...
