    This roughly 1,150 square meter greenhouse farm grows musk melons. In addition to picking your own, you can observe the melon growing process step by step through the staggered plantings in their eight greenhouses. If you call ahead to let them know you're coming, they'll give you a quarter of a melon when you arrive.

    This farm in Yamukai, Minamiboso City grows four kinds of strawberries: Akihime, Sachinoka, Tochiotome, and Benihoppe. You can pick your own on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays from around the middle of January to the beginning of May. Sometimes they're open on weekdays, but you should check in advance. From mid-April to mid-May you can try collecting your own bamboo shoots.

    "This museum is in Shiroyama Park, the site Tateyama Castle. It was inhabited by the Satomi clan who governed the surrounding area for about 170 years. The museum has exhibits on the history of the Satomi clan as well as the Awa region and local folk customs. They hold history themed classes and lectures too. Tateyama Castle's Hakkeden Museum at the top of the hill has exhibits pertaining to the historic novel ""The Chronicles of the Eight Dog Heroes of the Satomi Clan of Nanso"" by Bakin Kyokutei with its Satomi clan themes."
  • Nichiunji Temple

    This temple is located in Kamo, Minamiboso City. Originally a small temple of the Shingon sect, it was converted to the Nichiren sect after being persuaded when Saint Nichiren passed through on his way back to Kominato in 1246. There are approximately 20,000 hydrangeas planted on the premises, and it is known as a popular spot to see the flowers.

    This pier adjoins the Nagisano Station Tateyama along the Uchibo Nagisa coastal highway in Tateyama, Tateyama City. At 500 meters, this pier proudly holds the record of being the longest in Japan. Visitors can enjoy sunsets over Tateyama Bay and the view of Mt. Fuji at this site selected as one of Japan's Top 100 Sunset Spots and Kanto's Top 100 Views of Mt. Fuji.

    Unlike a conventional glass-bottom boat, the tour ship is equipped with an air-conditioned viewing room situated below the waterline, giving riders the chance to enjoy a three dimensional tour of the ocean floor. The tour takes around 50 minutes. Focusing primarily on the sea bottom three to four meters down in Tateyama Bay, riders can enjoy the wondrous ocean sights from the ship's deck as well as the observation cabin.

    A souvenir shop specializing in natural tuna and seafood direct from the port located inside Dorakuen, a theme park dedicated to fun and food. The shop carries a wide variety of distinctive Minamiboso products such as sea bream chikuwa fish paste cakes and sardine hamburg steaks, a Dorakuen original. The shop’s philosophy is seasonal ingredients when in season, and some products may not be available depending on the time of year.

    Ota-ya, makers of Edo fans in Tokyo, moved to Boshu because of the war, and since then has been making beautiful fans for four generations. There is shop where visitors can buy fans made from toweling, crepe paper and fans to compliment yukatas. There are also many original, one-of-a-kind products too.

    This is a glass workshop in Kitaasai, Chikura-cho, Minamiboso City. The workshop mainly creates item using glass blowing techniques and in the gallery space glass artworks are available for purchase. Also on the weekends and public holidays (on weekdays as well with reservations), baby footprint and pet paw print making and glass blowing experiences are held.

    Hananosato Floral Village Nagura on National Route 410 is an interactive flower park utilizing the temperate climate thanks to the Black current. In the park, a range of flowers such as poppies, lavender, fringed pink and sun flowers bloom proudly in season. You can pick flowers all year around as well as picking broad beans in spring and peanuts in fall.

    Daikokuyama is a mountain on the Katsuyama Coast, rising high above the flat coastal landscape surrounded by the sea. The observatory was built to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Kyonan Town.

    This beach seine fishing event is held on Iwai Beach in Chiba Prefecture. Seine fishing is an old-fashioned fishing method which involves placing large nets on the sea and then pulling them in as a group to see what the nets have caught. Event participants can barbecue and eat the fish caught after bringing the net in. The event is held around six times each year between May and October. The exact dates vary each year based on the time of year and the tides. Two activity plans are offered - simply participating the day of the event, and a lodging plan which includes a stay at a local inn the day before. Note that the event will be canceled in the event of inclement weather.

    This tourist loquat farm is operated by the Satomikan bed and breakfast. The farm grows the four most popular varieties of loquat - Tanaka, Fukuhime, Mizuho, and Ofusa. After paying a small fee, visitors can enjoy all-you-can-eat loquat picking for 30 minutes. Note that loquat picking is cancelled on rainy days. Instead, when it's raining, visitors can enjoy all-you-can-eat pre-picked loquats. The farm also sells loquats to take home. Loquat picking is offered during the approximately month-long loquat season, which lasts from around late May to late June.

    "This bridge spans the Nagao River in Shirahama-cho, Minamiboso City. The triple arch stone bridge was made with stone quarried locally. The bridge's name literally means ""glasses,"" a name it gained because it resembles a pair of glasses when the legs of its arches reflect off the surface of the river. Built with funds donated by residents in 1888, the bridge later survived heavy floods and the Great Kanto Earthquake of 1923 and is famed for its extreme sturdiness. The bridge has been designated a Japan Society of Civil Engineers Admiration of Civil Engineering Heritage, as well as a Tangible Cultural Property by Chiba Prefecture. In winter, the bridge's legs and railing are lit up at night."
  • Hamachidori Monument

    "This monument stands amidst a copse of pines on Hanazono Beach. The large stone monument is inscribed with the lyrics to ""Hamachidori,"" a song created by lyricist Meishu Kashima, who was active during the Taisho period (1912-1926). Kashima had a daughter and frequently visited the then-Wada City with her. Later, they moved here so she could recuperate from illness. Unfortunately, however, her condition did not improve and she eventually passed away. It is believed Kashima wrote ""Hamachidori"" to mourn her passing."
