"This Super Sento (Japanese style relaxation-spa) is located in Narita City, Chiba Prefecture. It is divided into the ""Wa-no-Yu"" with a moxibustion bath and salt sauna, and the ""Yo-no- Yu"" with a mist sauna and power bath, and you can enjoy a total of 24 kinds of baths that switch daily between being men and women only. It also has a bedrock bath, restaurants and a healing space where you can relax after bathing, so you can rest your body and soul as much as you need."

My wife and I plan a few extra hours at Narita, just to enjoy these baths. A quick train ride (2 stops on Keisei Line) and short walk permits a five hour layover to go very quickly. Very relaxing...

The Sakura City Museum of Art contains a good collection of literary works with some connection to Sakura or Boso Area, and maintains exhibits that feature modern Japanese art which extend those works. It was built in order to preserve and utilize the old Kawasaki Bank Sakura Branch (a Prefectural Tangible Cultural Property) built during the Taisho period. There’s also a café inside where you can enjoy a hand-made meal and dessert using local ingredients.

1994年に開館。江戸時代に文武芸術を奨励した佐倉藩11万石の城下町として栄えた中心地に位置し、大正7年に建てられたレンガ造りの旧川崎銀行佐倉支店（千葉県指定有形文化財）の保存と活用を考慮して建設された。

Sakura Kusabue Hill is a park that contains a miniature railroad 1.1 km long, athletic facilities, a petting zoo, and a rose garden. It also contains a campground for tour groups, some log cabins, and an accommodation facility with a capacity of up to 200 persons. There is a market where visitors can buy produce from local farmers and a farm-to-table restaurant. Visitors can try out a number of activities, including farm work and making pottery. This is the best place not only for families but also for groups with the purpose of experiential learning and training.

バラ満開の時に行ったバリアフリーが無くて不都合だったけどキャンプ場借りて BBQ 皆さんと楽しい時間を過ごした経験ありキャンプ場借りる人は駐車場は優先されて沢山歩かなくても良いバラは綺麗だった

Located along the Takasaki River near the Shisui Interchange, this hot spring bathhouse offers a variety of baths, including an open-air bath where you can enjoy hot spring water gushing from 2000 m underground, a highly concentrated carbon dioxide spring, a reclining bath, and an electric bath. The hot spring water is a high chloride salt spring rich in iodide ions, which has a high heat-retaining effect and warms the body to the core, and is also said to be effective in lowering blood pressure.

This sightseeing tour boat operated by Burekimera Co. Ltd is located along the Onogawa River in Sawara, Katori City. The area was selected as Kanto’s first Important Preservation Districts for Groups of Traditional Buildings and visitors can enjoy the aesthetic townscape of Sawara, also known as Little Edo, from the boat.

It cost ¥1,300 yen per person for a ride. The view was ok at the beginning but at the end of the river, some modern buildings can be seen at both side. Also there were a lot of trash on the river...

A European-style brick building located on Prefectural Route 55 in Sawara, Katori City. Built in 1914, the building of the former Mitsubishi Bank Sawara branch is now preserved and used as a center for preserving the old Sawara townscape, with various displays, and information for tourists.

Shibayama Nioson Kannonkyoji Temple has a long history, and tradition tells us that it was founded in 781. Its main object of worship is the Eleven-headed Kanzeon Bodhisattva. The companion image is Shibayama Nioson. Prayers offered here are said to benefit the pilgrim by granting protection from fire and theft and against bad luck. This temple was especially revered by firefighters in the Edo period (1603?1868). Within the temple precincts is the Shibayama Haniwa Museum, which displays haniwa (clay figurines) and other artifacts excavated from local burial mounds including Tonozuka / Himezuka (Prince mound / Princess mound).

Very beautiful, peaceful location atop a forested hill, with a small but very attractive museum of Haniwa clay figures from the surrounding tumulus tombs. Difficult to reach by bus from the airport...

The Suigo Sawara Dashi Kaikan gives a thorough introduction to the Sawara Dashi Festival and its Sawara Bayashi festival music that has been passed down over 300 years. The floats, sculptures, and large dolls on exhibit are replaced around the time of the summer and the autumn festivals, letting visitors enjoy new exhibits every year. The Sawara Dashi Festival and its Sawara Bayashi festival music are National Important Intangible Folk Cultural Properties.

佐原市街の中央を流れる小野川をはさんで、東側の本宿では八坂神社の祭礼である夏祭り、西側の新宿地区では諏訪神社の祭礼である秋祭りが行われます。館内には、夏祭りの山車10台のうち1台、秋祭りの山車15台のうち1台が展示されています。BGMに佐原囃子が流れており、優雅で哀調のあるメロディーは祭り気分を盛り上げます。

Sakura Juntendo Memorial Building commemorates Juntendo, the medical school and clinic founded by Sato Taizan, a practitioner of Dutch medicine, in 1843. The remaining parts of this building, which was built in 1858, has been designated a Historic Site of Chiba Prefecture. The Memorial Building contains medical books and medical instruments used at Juntendo in its early days.

Mushrooms are grown in Sakura Kinokoen (Mushroom Farm) without the use of any agricultural chemicals, and visitors can gather shiitake or wood ear mushrooms here. There is also a roofed-over barbecue area on the grounds with a capacity of 160 persons, so that visitors can immediately cook and eat the mushrooms they have just gathered. They can purchase additional ingredients in the shop on the premises, as well as bringing in their own food and beverages.

This sake brewery is in I, Sawara, Katori City. Established in 1825, it uses the early rice and exceptional water from the embankments of the Tone River region. Tours of the brewery are free (reservations required for 15 or more), where one can learn about the sake making process and enjoy sake tasting. The shop on the grounds offers sweets made from sake and other specialty items.

佐原の蔵元です。有料で試飲ができますが、車のため我慢。ショップで販売されている商品は、マスキングテープやシャツなど、色々増えていました。今回は前掛け生地で作ったバッグに入った日本酒日本入りセットを購入。お支払いはカード他、〇〇ペイ系も利用出来ます。

駅から徒歩圏内で電車派にはアクセスしやすいです。天然温泉ではありませんが塩サウナあり。プールや岩盤浴もあります。老朽化も目立ちますが清潔感は保っていると思います。お土産コーナーやレストラン、休憩スペースもあるのでゆっくりできます。

It is a long-established eel restaurant located on the road approaching Naritasan Shinshoji Temple. Every day, it is crowded with customers who come aiming to eat eel. The secret sauce enhances the flavor of the eel which has been gently grilled with proficient skill to retain a full texture: the secret sauce has continued to be added to the eel extract since the establishment of the business in 1910 during the Meiji period. The interior of the store is a place you can feel relieved as if you had come back to the countryside. Please be advised that seats cannot be guaranteed by making a reservation.

This tourism farm is located 20 minutes from the Sakura Interchange of the Higashi Kanto Expressway in the direction of Shisui. Here, one can eat all the strawberries they want with no time limit. Incorporating EM (Effective microorganism) farming methods that use such organic bacteria strains as yeast and lactobacillus, such popular varieties of strawberries as the Akihime, with low acidity, and the Benihoppe, which has a balanced acidity and sweetness, are produced here. The strawberry picking season lasts from around the end of January to the end of May every year. Vegetables and fruits picked in the morning are shipped out of the direct sales store year-round, and they also sell seasonal soft-serve ice cream and a rare strawberry soap.

This museum is adjacent to the Suigo Sawara Ayame Park at the edge of Yodaura Bay. They have a permanent exhibition that teaches about the area including with themes of the nature and history of the Tone River and the Agriculture of Chiba Prefecture. There are many historical items related to water transport on the Tone River, such as a 1/5 scale takasebune model boat. Some exhibits showcase the history of this waterfront area with film and audio, and the museum's many small-scale displays are intriguing. There is also an aquarium and a pond on the premises where you can observe the flora and fauna of the Tone River. There are fun activities for kids, too, like feeding the carp in the pond.
