    A public park situated along Prefectural Route 77 in Sama, Gyoda City. The park encloses the Sakitama Burial Mounds, a group of several large ancient burial mounds which includes the Maruhakayama Burial Mound and the Futagoyama Burial Mound. Park facilities include the Shogunyama Burial Mound Exhibit Hall, the Museum of the Sakitama Ancient Burial Mounds, a public square, botanical garden, and rest house. The park is also a popular destination for viewing cherry blossoms in the spring.

    無料の駐車場があちこちにあります。 その周りには名物のお土産屋やお休み所がありました。縁結びの神様と豪華絢爛な歓喜院聖天堂です。 散歩コースにもなる貴惣門 中門 仁王門からの本殿。平和の塔や実盛公像などなど見どころがいっぱいです。 名物のでっけーお稲荷さんのお店は行列ができていました。

    Opened in 1997, the Saitama Museum of Rivers teaches visitors through a variety of workshops about the Arakawa River, Saitama’s most prominent waterway, as well as the relationship between rivers and people’s lives. Its Arakawa Wakuaku Land facility is open from the Spring Equinox until the mid-November. This extremely popular “water athletics” park lets visitors learn about the scientific properties of water, flood control, and water use first hand through various activities.

    The museum is located in the ruins of a castle completed in the Muromachi period by Akiyasu Narita. Although the castle was destroyed during the Meiji Restoration, it was a famous heavily fortified caste that did not fall during battles between the Uesugi and Hojo clans, and withstood a flooding attack by Mitsunari Ishida, dispatched by Hideyoshi Toyotomi during the suppression of the Kanto region. It was considered one of the seven main strongholds of the Kanto region. Currently, there is a reconstructed turret located on the site of the destroyed Oshi Castle in the Honmaru area, and you can see a full view of within Gyoda City from the top floor. At the folk museum located on the grounds, you can find exhibits about Gyoda’s history and local culture.

    市内循環バスの西循環コースで「忍城址・郷土博物館前」バス停からすぐ。「忍城バスターミナル」からでも徒歩5分ほど。 忍城本丸跡地にあり、復元された忍城御三階櫓も博物館の一部となっている。入館料200円。常設展示は撮影不可。館内には忍城の資料、埼玉古墳群の出土品、行田の産業として有名な足袋に関する資料などが展示されているが展示数はそれほど多くない。御三階櫓の最上階(4階)は展望室となっている。

    A museum located in Sakitama Kofun Park along Prefectural Route 77 in Sakitama, Gyoda City. The museum preserves historic sites in the prefecture including the National Historic Site-designated Sakitama Burial Mound Group. It also collects, researches, and displays relevant materials. Museum exhibits include the Kinsakumeitekken (gold-inlaid iron sword) and other National Treasure-designated artefacts exhumed from the Sakitama Inariyama Burial Mound displayed in the national treasure exhibition hall.

    横穴式と言う複数埋葬できるように作られた石室だそうですが、その石室を公開しており、他にはなかなかこういう施設は見当たらないのではないかと思う。盗掘された跡があった影響なのか、発掘された当時の写真や様子などからの解説が乏しいのが残念ですが、メインの博物館よりも別館で離れた所にあるこちらの方が、興味深い展示館でした。

    This historical museum is in Yorii Town, Osato County, Saitama Prefecture. It serves as both a guidance center for the Hachigata Castle ruins and an activity center to educate visitors about local culture and history. There is an exhibition room dedicated to Hachigata Castle's history and construction, and there are special exhibition rooms on the themes of spring and autumn. The lecture hall can also be used for meetings and club activities except commercial purposes.

    その城で戦闘が行われ、勝敗がどうだったか、それをしっかりと展示しています。城跡だけ巡ってもそのあたりのことは確定できません。 私の場合、まず城跡を一通り巡り、意外とこれは防御力低いんじゃないかなと思ったら、実際落城していました。予想を確かめられました。

    "A park maintained on the grounds of a castle situated along National Route 125 in Honmaru, Gyoda City. Oshi Castle, counted as one of the seven great castles of the Kanto region, is also known as the ""Floating Castle"" after it withstood Ishida Mitsunari's attempt to flood it during Toyotomi Hideyoshi's 1590 campaign to subjugate Kanto. The castle's citadel was demolished in the early Meiji period. Today, a three-tier reconstruction stands on the site; serving as part of the Gyoda City Folk Museum, inside visitors will find exhibits on the history and culture of Gyoda."

    A museum located within the Katakura Industry's cocoon warehouse at their Kumagaya workshop, the last silk factory, which introduce the actual process used to produce the silk reeling machines and raw silk used in the factory and the life inside the factory. Visitors can see the actual machines that were used as well as a memorial gallery and the state of the warehouse as it was when operational. In 2007 it was designated as a site of Heritage of Industrial Modernization.

    もともとは片倉製糸工場があった場所なので、記念館があっても不思議ではないです。当時の貴重な資料がたくさん展示してあって、無料で見学できます。 大型産業の無い熊谷市にあっては大変大きな施設であったことが分かります。

    This temple is located in the Oaza Sueno area of Yorii-machi, Osato County. It was built in 1511, and in addition to being known as Gohyaku Rakanji Temple, it houses a thousand stone tablets of Kojin. There are also hiking courses on the grounds that overlook the rich nature of Chichibu.

    An ancient burial mound located on a natural embankment on the northern shore of Arakawa. It's one of the few burial mounds featuring a square flat base and round top found in Japan. The lower part of the tomb measures nearly 17-meters east by 24-meters west and stands nearly 2-meters high while the upper section is nearly 10-meters in diameter and 2.15-meters high topped with roofing stones. The tomb was constructed in the late 7th century. In 1956 it was designated as a National Historic Site.

    A museum located in Gyoda City which flourished from the late Edo period to the mid Showa period as a producer of Japanese Tabi socks. The building was formerly the tabi factory for a tabi shop called Makino Honten but after the building was no longer used it was converted into the museum in 2005 leaving most of the factory the way it was. The museum has exhibits as well as demonstrations by former tabi craftsmen.

    An exhibit hall within the Saitama Prefectural Museum of the Sakitama Ancient Burial Mounds. The Shogunyama Burial Mound was excavated by locals in 1894. From the side-entrance style burial chamber many burial items including horse saddles and helmets, meandering ironware, flag holders, copper bowls, and ring swords were unearthed. You can view remains and relics as well as the interior of the burial chamber. The actual burial items are on display in the National Treasure Exhibition Room of the main building.
