- Bon-no-yu is a hot springs facility located on the banks of the Arakawa River in Obashira, Chichibu City. The hot spring water is said to be very good for the skin; the water is drawn up from a multilayer spring that has some of the highest concentrations of beneficial minerals in the Kanto region. Besides indoor and outdoor baths, visitors to Bon-no-yu can also enjoy using the mist sauna. The main building is in traditional tatami-floored style, with rest areas and a bedrock bath (advance reservation needed); there is also a restaurant serving set meals and donburi (rice bowl) dishes, etc., as well as various relaxation facilities including massage services.

この温泉、幾度も行っている。今回は風呂、サウナに入るだけではなく、藤花亭で初めて食事した。 藤花亭は、この温泉の食事処。 ぱりうまカレーうどんと、ちくわ天を食べたが、予想したより美味しかった。 日帰り温泉の食堂の割に、きちんとした作りなのだ。 また、藤花亭は広く、客席が多いから、他の客を気にすることなく食事ができる。 そこも、良かった。

- A Shinto shrine located in 2-Chome Miyamoto, Midori Ward, Saitama City. The shrine is dedicated to gods such as Kushinadahime-no-Mikoto. A Nagoshi no Harae event is held here on July 31 in which participants take dolls into which their sins and shames have been transferred to and let them drift away on a river, then pass through a large ring placed in the shrine's torii gate to pray for good health.

秩父鉄道の秩父駅から改札出てすぐ左へ行くと「じばさん商店」です。 同じ建物内で直結しています。 秩父の名産品がたくさん売っています。 いつのまにか、リニューアルしていて、前とは変わってとても見やすくなっていました。 売店もできて、座る箇所も増えて、綺麗になっていて利用しやすい施設に変わっています。

- A historic structure situated along Kanetsuki-dori Street in Saiwai-cho, Kawagoe City. The tower was originally built some 400 years ago by Sakai Tadakatsu, then the lord of what was Kowagoe Domain. The tower was destroyed by fires and rebuilt many times; the current tower was rebuilt after it was destroyed in the Great Kawagoe Fire in the Meiji period. The tower's bell still rings out four times a day to announce the time and this sound has been selected by the Ministry of the Environment for inclusion of its list of 100 Soundscapes of Japan.

近隣の日帰り温泉に比べて少し狭いですが、和風でレトロな雰囲気のある素敵な温泉で、 大きな提灯の飾られた食事処が千と千尋の映画っぽいと子供が喜んでいました。 お風呂も炭酸泉が気持ち良くて良かったです。

埼玉県に40年以上住んでますが、子供と初めて訪れました。 他県の自然博物館に比べると小振りな博物館でしたが、秩父で発掘された化石から、大昔は海であったことがよく分かります。 パレオパラドキシアの化石は大変興味深いです。 秩父の自然や成り立ちを学べるので、秩父観光前に訪れると、秩父巡りがより楽しめると思います。
