    Gunma Kiryu-shi Hirosawacho
    A historic building in Hirosawa-cho 6-Chome, Kiryu City. The residence belonged to the Hikobe family who has settled in what is now Hirosawa, Kiryu City since the Sengoku Warring States period. The family can trace their lineage back to Prince Takechi the eldest son of Emperor Tenmu. The residence is made up of many buildings constructed from the 16th century to the early Showa period and include the main buildings, the Nagayamon gate house, and the retired quarters called the Fuyu-Zumi (Winter Dwelling). It has been designated as an Important Cultural Property of Japan.

It's a famous hit product in Kiryu City and has been handmade using the same techniques for many years. Other products available include their Siberia which sandwiches yokan jelly with castella cake.

    A restaurant specializing in eel cuisine located along Prefectural Route 66 in Hon-cho 3-Chome, Kiryu City. This long-standing shop first opened in 1829 during the late Edo period. Their Unaju eel dish serves plump eels, grilled with a secret sauce that has been handed down through the generations, over koshihikari white rice.

    A shrine in Kanayama Town, Ota City. The shrine is located at the top of Mt. Kanayama where the Kanayama Castle Ruins, a National Historic Site, is located. Enshrined is the spirit of Nitta Yoshisada who largely contributed to the overthrowing of the Kamakura Shogunate. From the grounds of the shrine you get a fantastic view over the Kanto Plain.

    A shrine located along Prefectural Route 322 in Nitta Ichinoi Town, Ota City. Enshrined is the guardian deity of Nitta Yoshisada's birthplace who greatly contributed to the overthrowing of the Kamakura Shogunate. It's said that before heading to attack Kamakura he raised his army here on the grounds of the shrine. On May 8th, the day Yoshisada raised his army, they hold the Kaburaya-sai Festival.

    国道１２２号線を走行中にこの道の駅がありましたので、立ち寄ってランチをしました。古民家風の食堂で趣があり、また注文した舞茸うどんも量も多く美味しくいただきました。売店には丁度今が盛りの山野草等も販売しており家が近ければ買って帰りたいほどでした。

    足尾から国道を行くと、まず堰堤近くに展望台と駐車場があります。その先進むと道の駅や美術館があります。どちらかというと、展望台よりここからの眺めのほうが湖を一望できる感じがします。

    河川敷ですがあまり河川敷を感じさせないゴルフ場です。ただし高低差はほとんど無く、それが唯一河川敷を感じさせるぐらいです。PB、ワンペナ等は川に入れた時ぐらいで、隣のコースからも打つことができます。群馬県営ですが、東急リゾートが委託されていてコースの管理もよく、唯一の欠点はクラブハウスが古いことぐらいです。以前ボロボロだった川崎国際ゴルフ場が東急に管理委託されて今はすごくきれいになっているので、こち...
