    Located inside the Kiryugaoka Park in Miyamoto Town, Kiryu City, Gunma Prefecture, this municipal zoo, situated on a natural hillside, nurtures over 100 different varieties of animals including the popular giraffes, lions, and kangaroos. Entrance is free for all, so that families are able to get their fill of fun for as long as they wish. The Kiryugaoka Park is also a well-known spot for seasonal cherry blossom viewing.

    This is the only research and exhibition facility in Japan which specializes in snakes. It is located approximately 10 minutes' walk from the Tobu Kiryu Line's Yabuzuka Station. Its main purpose is the research and uses of venomous snakes, and in the Venomous Snake Terrarium, visitors can see King Cobras, Rattlesnakes and other snakes from around the world. In the Orochi Terrarium, large snakes such as the yellow anaconda and alligator snapping turtles are on display. Viper venom extraction demonstrations are held on weekends and national holidays in the Antivenom Room.

    In a remote-ish part of Gunma, the snake center is very interesting to visit. Foreign tourists will probably not want to visit, as it takes a while to get to, but its fun. Its a little old, but you...

    Visitors learn about insects up close on the expansive grounds of this experiential education facility that replicates the Japanese countryside in the Niisato area of Kiryu City, Gunma Prefecture. In environments that closely resembles the insects’ natural habitats such as woods, rice fields, and brooks, visitors observe varieties like butterflies and beetles. In the insect observation facility there are many displays of woodland creatures and insects from around the world. There is also a subtropical greenhouse where you can see the tree nymph butterfly, the largest in Japan.
