The designs of the Usaburo Kokeshi (wooden dolls) are praised from abroad. This is a facility where visitors can experience and touch the Kokeshi dolls made by the founder Usaburo Okamoto who strived for perfection as an artisan. There are six hands-on experience courses, and reservations are unnecessary unless for groups of 15 or more. Besides cute kokeshi dolls, vases made of chestnut wood, Japanese wooden bowls and Japanese traditional toys are also sold in the shop. It is approximately 10 minutes by car from JR Yagihara Station.

Vast range of traditional wooden kokeshi dolls. Fantastic place for a souvenir if you are in the vicinity.

At Kusatsu, Ikaho, and Minakami, traditional indoor and outdoor bathing experiences are served hand in hand with irresistible onsen-themed food, including steam-cooked eggs and custard pudding.
