    This day-use hot spring bathhouse is adjoined to the Roadside Station Fujimi, approximately 20-minute drive from the Akagi Interchange on the Kan-Estu Expressway via the Prefectural Route 70 and the National Route 353. From the outdoor bath one has a panoramic view of the Maebashi City, which is an especially beautiful sigh at night. The water is drawn from one of the few sources in the Kanto region that is over 1,500 meters underground and is sodium and calcium chloride rich spring. These waters are said to be beneficial for skin diseases, nerve pain, women’s disorders, sensitivity to cold, stiff shoulders, and other symptoms. In the winter, after coming out of the outoside bath with your body heated to warm red glow, allowing your body to cool down with against Akagi air is exhilarating.

    A hot spring bath house in Takahinata, Minakami Town, Tone County. The baths are fed by a free flowing naturally emerging calcium sulfate hot spring and some of the spring water is also available for drinking. The bath house also features a restaurant where you can try dishes such as udon and edible wild plants prepared using the spring water.

    The hot springs from the Nagazasasawa River in Nakanojo Town, Agatsuma County, Gunma Prefecture were formed into this giant bath by damming the river on both sides. The nearby mountains and trees provide a freeing natural atmosphere. The name of the spring derives from the story of people’s hemorrhoids being healed when they burned their butts on the warmed stones at the bottom. Bathing in a bathing suit is acceptable but changing rooms are not available.

    This hot spring inn is located 10 minutes by car from Minakami Interchange. One of the charms of the inn is that it is located at the foot of Mt. Tanigawa, and each season has its own unique beauty, such as the remaining snow on the mountain contrasted with the cherry blossoms, green leaves and autumn leaves. There is the simple alkaline hot spring, which has continued to rise since the Edo Period, and dishes made with Gunma’s seasonal ingredients and local vegetables, served with warm hospitality. It is also famous as the inn associated with Osamu Dazai, and contains a miniature Osamu Dazai gallery. Visitors can view a reproduction of the Japanese-style room Dazai stayed in, along with hot spring tickets that he actually used, as well as books and photo albums and other valuable materials.

The waters of the bathhouse' calcium sodium chloride spring are said to treat rheumatism, hemorrhoids, skin diseases, and women's diseases. Visitors staying in Sawatari Onsen can use the bathhouse for free but must remember to bring a bathing permit from their inn or hotel. The waters of Sawatari Onsen are said to grant one beautiful, gem-like skin with just a single bath, and locals also frequently make use of this bathhouse. The bathhouse only has a men's and women's indoor bathing area with extra hot and hot baths, so you can choose which type suits you best.

The building is made of local timber and they have four different styles of baths including traditional cypress tubs as well as a relaxation room.

    平日昼間、ハイキングの帰りに寄りました。空いていてゆっくりできます。ただシャンプーがないので持参することをお勧めします。

They also offer lodging for visitors to the baths, orthopedic surgery, a hot spring clinic, and tea room.

    露天風呂がないので、あったらもっと良いですが、温泉の質は良いと思います。運動浴が出来る深い風呂の歩き回りながら入る風呂は、かなりぬるく、他の風呂は、若干熱めだったように思います。大人一人600円でした。

    This long-established inn on the banks of the Tone River, about seven minutes from the Minakami Interchange on the Kanetsu Expressway, was founded in 1927. There are 15 baths, each with its own unique atmosphere, including the “Bokusui-no-Yu”, using the valuable architecture from the time the inn was founded, and an outdoor bath where you can hear the babble of the stream and view the fresh green and autumn foliage as well as a snow scene, etc. The water quality is calcium / sodium sulfate chloride, said to be effective in easing neuralgia and poor circulation etc. The bath is available for day use and combining it with an outdoor experience is also popular.

    This hotel, a hot spring also available day use, is located in the foothills of Mt. Aoba and can be accessed after alighting at the JR Kusatsu Onsen bus terminal from Naganohara-Kusatsuguchi Station in Gunma Prefecture. It was established in 1913 and the calm atmosphere of the Japanese style rooms eases the travel fatigue of the guests. The source of the hot spring is from Sainokawara hot spring which is only drawn to serve a few hot spring facilities. Visitors can enjoy the soft water of the hot spring in the Amber bath, scented with wood, and Hosen-no-yu bath made of stone. Private baths and foot baths are also available to use, and guests can also enjoy the course menus of sashimi and hot pot dishes made with local, seasonal produce.

    This drinking Fountain is located in Nakanojo Town, Agatsuma County. It is one of the Shima hot springs. It is located next to Shima Post Office, and the Azumaya (Eastern style) roof makes it easy to spot. There are two gourd-shaped basins, one high and one low. Meiji no Yu is the source of the spring water. It is said to be effective for chronic gastrointestinal disease, chronic constipation and gout, among others. The water is slightly salty, and is easy to drink because of its lukewarm temperature. It is recommended that drinkers whose bowels are tired drink the water after a meal without diluting it.

    A free footbath in front of the Kisigon Ryokan inn in the Ikaho hot spring district which anyone may use. The spacious footbath is able to accommodate up to 10 people at a time, and guests at the inn may borrow a towel for free as well, meaning no need to bring your own. The footbath is located midway along the Ishidan-gai stone step street where many souvenir shops are located, making it a great place to soothe tired feet in the midst of exploring the town and enjoying its culinary delights. The footbath was also famously used for shooting scenes from the movie “Thermae Romae.” The footbath is open from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.; the bath gets crowded on Saturdays and Sundays, so visitors are encouraged to be forgiving of each other and compromise so everyone can enjoy it.

    A free footbath available for anyone to use at the entrance to Hotel Kindayu. Hours are from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. The waters are clear and a perfect 42°C. The hot spring is beneficial for muscle pain, wounds, and sensitivity to cold. There are also free towels available for use, making it possible to enjoy the footbath without any special advance preparations. Another feature of the footbath is its location in a back alley off of the otherwise often crowded Ishidan-gai stone step street, enabling visitors to enjoy a quiet foot soak in spite of the nearby hustle and bustle.

    A footbath situated along the bank of a river in the Yamaguchi area of the Shima Onsen hot spring district. The bath was recently remodeled in 2014. Yamaguchi Kawane Ashi no Yu is closed in winter (late November to early April). Shima Onsen has been a renowned hot spring health resort area since ancient times, and the Yamaguchi Kawane Ashi no Yu is one of several public footbaths in the area; the footbath is reached by crossing a small bridge. Visitors can soak their weary feet while enjoying the natural beauty of the surrounding forest and the clear waters of the adjacent river. The footbath still retains traces of its former incarnation as an outdoor full-body bath, and an old-fashioned townscape is also visible from the bath, reminding users of a bygone time in Japan.

The facility has a Pool Zone complete with an indoor pool with 25 meter swimming lane and play area as well as an outdoor pool open in the summer. The Relax Zone has hot spring baths, sauna and massage area. The abundant onsen waters are drawn from a spring called Bandai Kogensen, which has an especially high temperature.

    Kawahara no Yu is a free communal hot spring bath situated on the river bank where the Shima River and Shinyu River meet at the foot of Hagi Bridge in Shima, Nakanojo Town. The stone bath resembles a cave. Visitors will need to bring bathing necessities with them as there are only simple lockers at the bath.

    Fureai Koryu-kan is a small indoor day spa located in the center of the hot spring town of Minakami Onsen. The hot spring footbath to the left of the entrance can be enjoyed for free. It is recommended visitors call in when they are in Minakami to see the events and special exhibitions as well as for the variety of agricultural product available. It is approximately a 15 minute walk from JR Minakami Station.

    Free bathing from 9 a.m.–3 p.m., this communal bathing facility is located on Shima Onsen street in Nakanojo Town, Agatsuma County, Gunma Prefecture. The tasteful wooden bath house was built new in 2006. Receiving a divine mission of healing 40,000 diseases, this hot spring uses the original hot spring that started it all. It is said to be effective for cuts, nerve pain, and fatigue.
