Tochigi Otawara-shi Maeta 980-1

This museum features permanent exhibits on the subject of the poet Matsuo Basho and the Ozeki clan, who were the lords of the Kurobane Domain. It also holds special exhibits intended to increase interest in the region's cultural heritage. Built with ample amounts of Yamizo cedar, the museum has a dignified appearance. There is also a bronze statue of Basho astride his horse alongside his traveling companion Kawai Sora in the courtyard.

Its indoor baths leverage the vast amounts of hot spring water on hand while its open-air baths featuring transparent and colorless alkaline simple hot spring water are said to help with conditions such as nerve pain and muscle soreness. The Ami no Yu open-air baths, one of the spa's most notable features, allow bathers to soak in water deeper than their waists while holding on to ropes suspended from the rafters. This place keeps getting better. Definitely, one of the must dos when in Nasu Kogen. The samples are delicious as are any of the items for sale. They have added soft-serve ice cream as well.

This tourist information center located in Nasushiobara City, Tochigi Prefecture provides explanations and guidance for the nature and promenade in Shiobara, and operates various walking plans. For example, it coordinates nature walking plans corresponding to the season and members, hikes with park conductors and nature learning activities. In addition, the visitor center has a rest corner where you can rest yourself after walking.

七ツ岩吊橋を見学に行った時、こちらビジターセンターの駐車場に車を停めました。本来はトレッキングされる方が利用されているようです。私は正午あたりにビジターセンターに到着しました。全部で30台ほど駐車できそうでしたが紅葉シーズンのため満車でした。10分ほど待ってやっと駐車スペースが出来ました。朝早めに駐車したほうが良さそうです。

This outdoor science museum is located in Nasushiobara City, Tochigi Prefecture. First opened in 1905, the museum preserves and displays the fossils that have been excavated on its grounds. The exhibit room displays a wide variety of fossils and minerals collected from around the world, mostly notably the many fossils produced locally in the Shiobara area. One of the museum's attractions is a corner where visitors can enjoy breaking open fossil rocks in order to look for leaf fossils.

塩原湖からは沢山の植物、昆虫、魚、カエルなどの化石が産出されています。その数々の化石がきれいに展示されているので興味を持つ子どもたちには最高の場所でしょう。実際に原石を割って化石探しの体験をすることが出来ます。ショップコーナーでは化石や鉱物が販売されています。あまり時間がなかったのでゆっくりできなかったのが残念でした。

あまり特徴のない弱アルカリ泉の公設の立ち寄り湯です。コロナの影響でサウナなど使えない状態でしたが利用料500円は施設の充実に対して嬉しい価格です。食堂では大型のニジマス「ヤシオマス」という栃木名産のマスをいただきましたが、脂が甘く美味でした。

Tochigi Shioya-gun Shioyamachi Kumanoki 802

This small rural elementary school is a place where people can experience life in the countryside. Originally opening in 1874, it was a place of learning for countless children for 124 years until it closed. The wooden schoolhouses, which are preserved just as they were, are still used today. Visitors can stay overnight at the school and cook their own meals in its outdoor cooking area or its classrooms. It also offers a fun and educational stargazing and astronomy programs (reservation required).

ヤマメ、イワナが釣れるので、楽しめました。釣った分だけ食べないといけないのですが（持ち帰りもできますが）調理代は高いです。でも、子供が喜んでいるし、日常ではできない体験代と思えばなんのその。ゴーカートやバンジートランポリンなど釣り以外でも楽しめます。
