This cafe and camp site is located in Takakuhei, Nasu Town. The spacious grounds feature a freely available camping site where you can experience the grandeur of Nasu’s natural scenery, as well as a cafe that serves drip coffee, handmade cakes, pizza, and more (pets allowed). There’s also porcelain art and other activities available. The site and facilities can be rented for events.

初めての那須高原旅行の際、ホテルに向かう途中でお茶の為に立ち寄りました。お店に向かう入口付近が分かりづらく注意が必要です。奥まった場所にお店の建物があって、広大な庭園、池などが綺麗に整備されていました。テラス席はワンコ同伴でもＯＫと言うことで、綺麗な庭園を眺めながら寛げました。キャンプも出来るようです。水だしアイスコーヒーを注文、なかなか良いコーヒーの香りもしっかりあって美味しかったです...

This unusual art museum is built into a housing complex. The museum supports the local culture and artistic endeavors of the Ashikaga and Ryomo regions, with works by local artists from both areas on display. Fine art and performing art workshops are held at the museum. There is also a free to view local artist's corner.

美術館の1階にあるスペース。美術館の無料デーに行きました。猫に関するグッズが多かった。足利らしい織物関連のお土産もありました。100円のしおりはちょっとしたお土産になると思います。

Tochigi Ashikaga-shi Midoricho 2-3768

This art museum stands at the southern edge of Ashikaga Park. The museum displays the artwork as well as the personal effects of Tazaki Soun, a Southern School painter who was active in Ashikaga from the end of the Edo period through the Meiji period. Known as a late Edo period loyalist painter, Soun studied under artists such as Kanai Ushu and his works have been highly praised outside Japan. Soun was also chosen to be the first Imperial Household Artist, once the highest honor for an artist in Japan, and the museum stores, conserves, and presents his artwork and personal effects. A thatched roof residence believed to have been the home of Soun stands in the museum's garden, and visitors can take in a peaceful atmosphere cut off from the hustle and bustle of the everyday.

足利公園の中、横にある美術館です。入場にはお金がかかりますが、ちょっと休憩がてらに夜にはいいかもしれません。

The largest visitor’s strawberry farm in northern-Kanto region, this farm houses 111 greenhouses covering an area larger than Tokyo Dome. Supported by the local Japan Agricultural Cooperative farmers, families can enjoy picking strawberries from mid-December through mid-May. All you can eat freshly picked fully ripened large Tochiotome strawberries, known for their sweetness and juiciness, can be enjoyed without any time limit.

A tea house and fishing facility that's recognizable by its charming antique kominka house-like facade. It provides the chance to catch char and rainbow trout raised in the cool, clear water of Nikko. You can grill and eat your catch on the spot. Families and groups including children's group meetings can try catching fish by hand with a reservation. With rental fishing rods and bait available, it's a fun place for both children and adults. Many tourists stop by while visiting at Okashinoshiro. The farm, which prioritizes visitors with reservations, is open from around December to around May each year.

This is a historical theme park located in the Yunishigawa Onsen area of Nikko City, and is a recreated folk village to show the community lifestyle of the Heike’s ochiudo (defeated Heike people). Inside, the park is divided up into thatched-roof homes relocated from other areas, displays about folk-cultural properties such as tools with bamboo ladles as well as the genealogy and armor of the Heike, and places to purchase sweets and souvenirs. “Tochi mochi” and “oshiruko” are popular sweets featuring the Heike ochiudo flavors. During the “Heike Big Festival” in June, a procession of historical figures which look as though they were in a Heike picture scroll parade down a distance of nearly two kilometers.

About 40 minutes by car from JR Nasushiobara Station. This nature-filled park features a forest rich with horse chestnut and Mongolian oak trees, which was chosen for “Japan’s Top 100 Forests.” Lots of grasses and flowers here too, like peat moss and Ezo loosestrife. You’ll even find the country’s smallest dragonfly (Nannophya pygmaea) and other unique fauna and flora amid such rich nature. Pathways and restrooms ensure that everyone has a pleasant visit.

"Ohirasan Prefectural Natural Park is a 1,000-hectare prefectural nature park located in the heart of Tochigi City. The Kenshindaira plateau, situated near the top of Mt. Ohira, offers a sweeping view of the Kanto Plain. The majestic sight of the surrounding peaks jutting out from a sea of fog when conditions are right which unfolds just beyond the plain has even been dubbed the ""Matsushima islands of the land"" in allusion to an archipelago famous for its scenic beauty. A sightseeing road makes it possible to visit Mt. Ohira in the center of the park, the Zuishinmon Gate of Ohirasan Shrine, and the approach to the shrine (the Ajisaizaka hill road). On clear days, visitors to the plateau can see all the way to distant Mt. Tsukuba, the skyscrapers of Tokyo, and Mt. Fuji from an observatory."

A park in Kanuma City, Tochigi Prefecture. The park is a beautiful sight to see come spring with its almost 300 sakura cherry trees and 1,000 rhododendron bushes. The park also has amusements for children including a ferris wheel and electric train, making this a popular spot for family outings as well as field trips for kindergartens and elementary schools. The Senjuin Temple on site enshrines the Thousand Hand Kanzeon Bodhisattva.

ゴンドラがわずか10個の観覧車など小さな子供向けの遊具が4つある公園ですが、その名の由来となった16世紀創建の千手院や仁王門、千住観音堂なども敷地内にあり大人も子供も楽しめる公園だと思います。

SLキューロク館内にある売店併設の小さなカフェです。ドリンクやソフトクリームなど扱っていますが、終了が早い。目の前の客車内では飲食禁止なので注意。

Tochigi Areas

Most visits to Tochigi revolve around Nikko, a small city home to the spectacular, lavishly decorated Toshogu Shrine and Nikko National Park with its mountains, lakes, waterfalls, onsen, and wild monkeys. Neighboring Oku-Nikko is an extension of the fantastic scenery famous for its autumn leaves, while Tochigi’s capital, Utsunomiya, is the only place in the world where you can find oya stone beautifully exhibited in temples and the Oya History Museum.
