    Ryujin Big Suspension Bridge located in Okukuji Prefectural Nature Park in Ibaraki Prefecture is a suspension bridge that crosses over Ryujin Gorge and boasts the longest length in Honshu. There is a carillon called “Mori no Kane” is on the opposite bank, and it is popular among couples as it needs two people to press a button simultaneously. From the hanging bridge of a maximum height of 100 meters, you can do bungie jumping, and there are also various seasonal events such as the koinobori (a carp streamer) festival and the suifusoba festival where Hitachiaki soba noodles, a local specialty, can be enjoyed.

    This shrine in Hitachi City, Ibaraki is located on the side of the ancient Hitachi Province sacred mountain Mt. Oiwa and has recently become popular as a spiritual hot spot. While the details of its foundation are unclear it is said that Mt. Oiwa was the birthplace of ancient faiths and that generations of lords of the Mito clan would visit the shrine to pray. It is famous for being a shrine rich in Shinto and Buddhism with 188 gods enshrined throughout the mountain, including the Tangible Cultural Property of the Dainichi Nyorai Statue and the Amida Nyorai Statue. You will also find growing on the grounds a three trunked cedar estimated at over 500-years-old, which has been designated a Prefectural National Treasure.

    One of Japan’s Top Three Waterfalls, the Fukuroda Falls in Kuji County, Ibaraki Prefecture, are 73 meters wide with a 120-meter drop over the tributaries and rapids of Kuji River. Also called “Shido-no-taki” because the falls break over four levels of rocks or because Saigyo Hoshi suggested visiting in each of the four seasons. Its icy visage in winter and the leaves of fall make for particularly inspiring views. The old lookout deck and the new one built in 2008 offer you different views to enjoy.

    こんな詐欺師みたいな直売所初めて。野菜の鮮度は悪いし、平気でレシートに嘘を書く。買ったほうれん草は2日で液状化するし(よそで買ったほうれん草は同じ保存方法でもこんなにならない)、レシートに「商品の返品、交換はそのレシートがあり、なおかつ3日以内であれば対応いたします。」と書いてあったためそのほうれん草を持っていったら、夏場だし葉物だから対応できないと言われた。

    A hall in Izura, Otsu-cho, Kitaibaraki City. It was designed and used as one of his base by Okakura Tenshin, a thinker who founded the Japan Art Institute and made important contributions to the development of modern Japanese art. Visitors enjoy the beautiful scenery of the natural setting with the hexagonal vermilion structure on a steep cliff above the sea. It's lit up at night.

    岡倉天心が過ごした家や六角堂を見学できます。六角堂、付近から眺める景色は美しく、飽きが来ない。 天心はここで美術について想いを巡らせていたと思うと感無量だ。 敷地内には展示室や実際に天心が過ごした家もあり全て回って約30〜40分程か。 全体的に穏やかな雰囲気に包まれており、 寺社仏閣並みに心が洗われる感じになるから不思議だ。 派手さは無いけど心に残る、そんな場所だ。

    A museum adjoining the childhood home of Ujo Noguchi, known as one of Japan's three greatest children's song writers alongside Hakushu Kitahara and Yaso Saijo. The two-story wooden building standing on a hill commanding a view of the Isohara coast; was damaged by the tsunami resulting from the Great East Japan Earthquake but was restored in 2013. Inside the museum, visitors can view exhibits containing rare items such as manuscripts and hanging scrolls penned in Noguchi's own hand while he was alive.

    A Shinto shrine located at the top of Mt. Nishikanasa in Hitachiota City. The shrine is dedicated to Onamuchi-no-Mikoto, Kuni-no-Tokotachi-no-Mikoto, and Sukunahikona-no-Mikoto. The shrine building was built by the High priest Hoju in 806, after which a ceremony was performed to ritually transfer a portion of the spirits of the deities enshrined at the Hiyoshi Shrine on holy Mt. Hiei here. The shrine grounds are enclosed by natural forest and visitors can view huge gingko and sawara cypress trees designated Natural Monuments by the prefectural government. The shrine's Isode Tai Sairei festival, held once only every 72 years, is one of the largest Isode festivals in the country and has been designated a National Selected Intangible Folk Cultural Property.

    西金砂神社に到着です。 階段を登って拝殿に行きました。 それから石段を登って本殿に向かいました。 本殿までは、結構山道をのぼりました。結構登ります。 本殿は山頂にあり景色も最高です。 祭神は大己貴命と国常立命と少彦名命。大同元(806)年に天台僧の宝珠上人が,社殿を造り祭壇を設けて,近江国比叡山の日吉神社の分霊を勧請・祭祀したのが始まりとされています。

    "A museum in Isohara, Isohara-cho, Kitaibaraki City. Noguchi Ujo was a poet known for writing the lyrics to folk songs and children's songs such as Shabondama (Soap Bubbles) and Nanatsunoko (Seven Little Babies). This is his childhood home and it has displays of some of his important items. It is also called “Kankaitei"" (ocean viewing house) because of its location overlooking the Isohara sea. Tokugawa Mitsukuni, of the lord of the Mito Domain, is believed to have stayed there."

    JR磯原駅から徒歩少し歩いた場所にあります。駅から案内はありませんが、見つけることはできました。館内の方が簡単に説明してくれます。また、震災の津波で建物の一部分が床上浸水になったそうですが補修済みです。 民謡で有名な野口雨情さんについて 写真などで知ることができました〇

    An apple orchard located in Daigo Town in the Okukuji region identifiable by its vivid scarlet sage flowers. The orchard grows over 20 varieties of apples and visitors can enjoy apple picking here from late September until the end of November. The orchard doesn't close during this period; the varieties which visitors can pick will differ depending on the time. The orchard offers all-you-can-eat apple samples as well as bags and boxes which visitors can stuff with apples to take home with them. The orchard also offers shipping within the local region. In addition, visitors can barbecue Hitachi beef while sipping wine and purchase homemade breads, apple pies, and jams made with the orchard's apples.

    りんごの試食が食べ放題になっています。そのりんごを採れるので嬉しい! 知らないりんごの種類が沢山あって楽しめます。ただ、試食がないりんごの味はわかりませんが。 高いところのりんごは専用のキャッチ棒があるので、それで掴んで採ります。

The quality and temperature of Daigo's spring water remains stable throughout the year, and it is used to make ""Yamizo Shinrin no Beer,"" a variety which has won much acclaim from local beer fans. The beer is offered in four types-a pilsner, weizenbier, helles, and special seasonal variety. Each is an exquisite beverage full-bodied and rich in flavor."

    お店は、ログハウスのような作りで、暖かい感じのお店です。 地ビールも何種類もあるので、楽しめるとおもいます。 お料理もビールにあったお料理で、とても美味しかったです。

    A long-standing shop which sells Nishinouchi washi Japanese paper, a craft designated a Prefectural and National Intangible Cultural Property. The shop sells Nishinouchi washi and finished goods and also operates as a museum with exhibits on Nishinouchi washi and handmade papers from around the world. Nishinouchi washi is a high quality, sturdy paper made with Nasu kozo (paper mulberry) and was once valued as a monopoly good of the former Mito Domain. The facility offers papermaking demonstrations and sukie paper art classes (advance reservation required), making it easy for visitors to experience the world of this traditional craft.

    漉き絵を体験してその作品を後から家まで送ってもらいました。中は充実の和紙の博物館のようですが、いろいろな製品を買うこともできます。 漉き絵は集中力がいりますが絵心のある人には楽しい体験です。
