- This zoo is located inside the Hitachi Kamine Park overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Popular for its elephants, giraffes, capybara beavers, and lesser pandas, this zoo nurtures around 500 creatures of 70 varieties. 家族向けのスポットです。トレインが見当たらなかったので、車で一方通行の園内を周りました。マナー違反の路駐する人もいます。大学生くらいのグループがきらら館のテーブルでつまらなさそうにぼーっとしていたので、ここは、家族向けだなと感じました。スライダーはとても面白いです。

小さい水族館ですが、オオサンショウウオやイトウなど貴重な生物も居ますが、やや汚れている水槽があったのがマイナスポイントかな。 近くには遊具のある公園や見にSLに乗れる広場があるので、子供連れにはいいかも。

- An amusement facility surrounded by forest where visitors can enjoy pools and hot spring baths together with the seasonal beauty of the Okukuji area. The facility is located close to the last stop of the bus for Forespa-Daigo leaving from Hitachi-Daigo Station on the JR Suigun Line. The indoor facilities make use of piping hot water from the hot springs of Daigo and include a 25-meter pool, tube slide, and various saunas, ensuring there's something for people of all ages. The bade zone has facilities for promoting health and beauty such as a lie-down bath and water walking pool. There's also an indoor bath and restaurant which can be used while wearing a swimsuit.

- An apple orchard located in Daigo Town in the Okukuji region identifiable by its vivid scarlet sage flowers. The orchard grows over 20 varieties of apples and visitors can enjoy apple picking here from late September until the end of November. The orchard doesn't close during this period; the varieties which visitors can pick will differ depending on the time. The orchard offers all-you-can-eat apple samples as well as bags and boxes which visitors can stuff with apples to take home with them. The orchard also offers shipping within the local region. In addition, visitors can barbecue Hitachi beef while sipping wine and purchase homemade breads, apple pies, and jams made with the orchard's apples.

Serving as a center for Okukuji tea, which began being cultivated in the area in the Edo period, the park has a 3,000 square meter tea field and tea house where visitors can enjoy an authentic tea ceremony. The park also offers activities like tea picking, tea ceremony classes, and soba noodle making. The adjoining Japanese paper doll Museum - So Yamaoka theater displays pieces by Japanese paper doll artist So Yamaoka.

公営の施設です。２月のはじめ、いたるところにひな人形が飾られていて、それは見事な景観でした。これだけのひな飾りをすることが驚きです。山岡草和紙人形館の常設展示は雪がテーマでした。雪国で暮らすほっこり感が気持ちを温めてくれました。外では、フクジュソウが咲き始めています。春ですね。

- A riverside campground located a 12-minute walk from Kami-Ogawa Station on the JR Suigun Line in Ibaraki Prefecture. The campground has around 120 campsites as well as several bungalows with electric lights and outlets. At the campground's barbecue area, campers can rent lanterns and grilling plates as well as fishing rods and sets for pounding mochi rice cakes. The campground's shop also sells food supplies and charcoal. The shop's smooth, flavorful white pudding, sold since 2011, has become quite famous.

- This bungee jumping spot off of the 100-meter tall Ryujin Big Suspension Bridge is the tallest bridge bungee jumping spot in Japan and is located a 50-minute drive from the Naka interchange on the Joban Expressway via National Route 349. The Ryujin Big Suspension Bridge spans a snaking lake and, at 375 meters long, is one of the longest dedicated pedestrian bridges in Japan. After plunging towards the surface of the lake, jumpers are hauled back up via an electric winch. Jumpers must be between 40 and 105 kilograms and be 15 years of age or older. - A 15 minute drive from the Kita-Ibaraki Interchange. A small park on the tip of Cape Otsu jutting out into the Pacific Ocean with a view of the Rokkakudo, a red hexagonal pavilion and local landmark. Situated on a cliff a little above the ocean, the scenery as seen from the park is gorgeous and like something out of a painting. The park has walking courses, benches, and roofed rest area. The park was also used as a filming location for the movie “Tenshin” and has a memorial viewing tower dedicated to remembering the Great East Japan Earthquake. Come on a sunny day and enjoy a picnic lunch on the park’s lawn.

There are eight clay and artificial turf tennis courts; a gymnasium equipped for futsal, basketball, badminton, running, and other sports; and a fitness room which can be used for meetings and yoga. There's also a 25-meter pool and children's pool only open in summer.
