    Navel Park located in Koga City, Ibaraki Prefecture is a park as well as a leisure facility. It has a camping site equipped with log cabin-style cabins and a barbeque area where equipment is for lease. It also includes a free-of-charge athletics playground, a colorful day lily garden, a grass area, an underground maze with an entry fee, and a pony ranch. At the craft building, you can also experience painting and pottery making and have lunch at a soba noodle restaurant or a bakery so it can be enjoyed as a day trip as well as overnight.

    Tenmangu Shrine of Joso City, Ibaraki Prefecture is one of Japan’s Top 3 Tenjin Shrines, and constructed by Sugawara Michizane’s third child, Kageyuki, it enshrines the deity of academics. On the grounds are figures of bulls, and many plum blossom crests, both emblems of the Shinto faith. The shrine houses many cultural artifacts, including the Prefectural Tangible Cultural Property Omiki Tenjin painting of the sacred ‘sake’ deity. Every year visitors pray for successful completion of their examinations here.

    A sake brewery established in the Edo period located a 10-minute walk from the north exit of JR Yuki Station. The brewery building was originally built in the Ansei era; this and the large brick chimney added on in the Meiji period are designated a National Tangible Cultural Property. Visitors can enjoy food along with Fukufuku, a traditional and renowned sake which has been brewed since the Edo period, served at various temperatures. Yuiyui, another of the brewery's famous sakes, is decorated with a design created by a local calligrapher depicting a thread ring surrounding the character for good fortune. Made with underground water from the Kinugawa River system, this sake is characterized by its mild flavor.

    A park designated a Prefectural Historic Site encompassing the site of Sakasai Castle, a plains castle constructed in the late Warring States period. Built in 1577 by the Later Hojo clan to serve as a base for their expansion into northern Kanto, the castle was destroyed by the mighty samurai lord Toyotomi Hideyoshi in 1590 and abandoned. Today, the outer moat and portions of the castle base still remain in an untouched state. Castle facilities such as the main gate, bridge, walls, main building, and two-tier tower have been reconstructed in based on archeological excavations, showing what the castle looked like in its heyday and giving visitors the chance to feel like they've gone back in time. Some 200 cherry trees grow on the grounds, including Beni Sashima cherries, an endemic Ibaraki variety, and the park is a top local destination for viewing cherry blossoms in the spring.

    "A historic building in Kossho, Joso City. Designated a Prefectural Historic Site, it was the childhood home of poet and novelist Nagatsuka Takashi. Born into a Kossho Village wealthy farming family, he wrote ""The Soil,"" a well-known novel and part of a genre depicting rural Japanese life. The facility preserves many of his personal items. Just 36 years old when he passed away, many people still visit, keeping his memory alive."

Highly popular with locals, the restaurant has also been featured several times on television and in other media. The restaurant's distinctive gyoza are ball shaped. One of the restaurant's draws is the fact that you can eat your gyoza however you like using the provided soy sauce and mayonnaise based sauces. In addition to standard gyoza, the restaurant also offers boiled gyoza and other a la carte dishes. The bathhouse' sodium chloride hot spring is said to benefit such ailments as nerve pain, joint pain, and sensitivity to cold. The facility also sells exclusive Nipponham products sold no place else, like roast pork, boneless ham, and curry sausage. The facility offers homemade sausage making classes which can be reserved from one person up. The adjoining restaurant serves dishes made with original ham and sausage varieties alongside beers and wines.

    An activity workshop located in Yuki City, famous for its Yuki-tsumugi pongee, situated on the grounds of Yuki Castle 20 minutes from the Sakuragawa-Chikusei interchange on the Kita-Kanto Expressway and 30 minutes from the Sano-Fujioka interchange on the Tohoku Expressway. Located in a quiet area surrounded by greenery, here visitors can try hataori loom weaving and aizome indigo dyeing. Using a rebuilt takabata loom, visitors can weave a coaster using threads in the colors of their choice in about 30 minutes. Visitors can also tie-dye a handkerchief or bandana using traditional aizome indigo dyeing techniques, or even bring in their own cloth or T-shirt to dye (an advance reservation is required to bring your own item for dyeing).

    A 10-minute walk from Ishige Station on the Kanto Railway Joso Line or a five-minute drive from the Joso Interchange on the Ken-O Expressway. This five tiered, seven floor pseudo-castle tower serves as a symbol of Joso City. A regional exchange center, floors one and two are occupied by a hall and library; floors three through six contain exhibition rooms; and floor seven is an observation deck with a fantastic view of Mt. Tsukuba, Mt. Fuji, and the Nikko Mountain Range from 40 meters above the ground. The site is originally believed to have been occupied by a thatch roof estate fortified with a moat and earthen wall, and a stone monument to the site stands on the Kokai River embankment.

    This is one of the areas of the Sanuma Koiki Park, in Shimotsuma, Shimotsuma City. In addition to being a famous cherry blossom viewing spot where 350 trees of around 50 types have been planted, it is also home to the Iris Garden, which is at its best from late May to mid-June, and the Sanuma-an, which is a multipurpose training hall with a Japanese garden. It is also connected to the opposite side of Samuma agricultural irrigation pond by the longest bridge, the Sanuma Ohashi Bridge, which is a Y-shaped bridge with a total length of 395 meters.

    A recycling plant located along the Live Line connecting Prefectural Routes 125 and 56. Visitors can tour the plant and watch as plastic trays from supermarkets and other materials and separated and recycled. After the tour, visitors can watch a DVD explaining the plant's workings and ask a representative question, making the facility an excellent place to learn how recycling is actually carried out. Tours are reservation only; applications are accepted over the Internet and via fax machine. Two tours are offered every weekday starting at 9:00 and 13:00. Tour-goers can also have a bento box lunch from the plant sold at cost.

The farm also offers a tea making class during which participants can enjoy sweet kurikinton homemade with the farm's own chestnuts. Yakult products have long been a favorite of Japanese households, and the strict safety standards employed here as well as the overwhelming scale of the facility also make the factory an excellent topic for a child's summer vacation school research project. Tours are offered from Monday through Saturday and take around one hour. Tour-goers can view production processes up close and also sample Yakult products.
