    A ceramics shop carrying close to 10 thousand pieces by some 500 potters. Located close to the south entrance of Kasama Geijutsunomori Park, the shop can be identified by its large, floor to ceiling windows which occupy most of the front facade of the building. Pieces by ceramics artists are on display right by the entrance and the content of this display is changed every other week. Weekly exhibitions are also held in the shop's gallery space. The shop displays pieces not only by veteran potters but young up and comers as well. In the cafe corner, you can choose your favorite cup from among the many designed by shop artists and take a relaxing coffee break.

    明るく綺麗な建物内で様々な展示がありじっくり吟味したい方にはとても良いと思います。少しだけ通路に余裕があると良いかなと思いました。 次は夏のネコ展に来れたらなと思いました。

    A large, 12 story shopping mall adjoining the south entrance of JR Mito Station. The 15 LED screens which make up the Mito OPA-vision playing advertisements and providing shop information give the mall a visually striking exterior. The mall is also connected to the Excel Minato building via a pedestrian walkway, and a passageway also connects it to the north entrance of the station, giving visitors easy access to shopping. Many of the shops in the mall are the first locations of their kind in Ibaraki. The mall is a great place for fashion-conscious young people to pick up the latest trends from Tokyo, and also makes a great date destination as well.

    JR水戸駅に接続する商業施設です。改札口からは雨にぬれずに行けます。コロナのせいなのか、一部の飲食店が撤退していて寂しい感じです。

    A gallery primarily focusing on Kasama ware located on the Kasama Gallery Road a 20-minute walk from Kasama Station on the JR Mito Line. The gallery was opened in 2002 with the aim of being a space for exchange between artists in the country and around the world. Making use of a storehouse and gallery encircling a courtyard, charming wooden shelves scattered throughout the facility are covered with pottery. Harmonizing with the surrounding nature, the gallery makes use of natural lighting to show off its wares. In addition to displaying pieces by a selection of permanent artists, the facility also has a solo exhibition space whose contents changes every two weeks.

    いろいろな作家さんの、陶器がたくさん置いてあり ゆっくりと見て回るのが、楽しい場所です。 陶器だけではなく、お箸や、いろいろな小物を見て 回るのも楽しいです。

    A facility dedicated to presenting local charms located near Ibaraki Airport. Soranoeki Sol La La carries a wide variety of specialty products from the area around the city of Omitama. There’s a buffet-style restaurant serving dishes made with ingredients from Omitama as well as a shop selling local foodstuffs. The lactic acid food production plant on the facility’s grounds makes dairy products with milk from local farms and sells fresh yogurt. The Challenge Shop offers light meals created by local farmers filled with experimental, creative ideas; a different “shop” operates out of the space daily, providing a variety of menu options.

The establishment is situated across from the south promenade of Kasama Geijutsunomori Park. The establishment primarily displays pieces the owner, Junko Oshima, fell in love with at first sight. Inside, visitors will find animal-themed pieces, pieces created with novel colorings, and other rare and highly individual pieces. The establishment also holds monthly exhibitions of artists from Ibaraki and other prefectures. Carrying one of the establishment's pieces for sale in your hands will help you to experience its unique aura.

    "An all-weather amusement facility adjoining the head office of Kamejirushi, a long-standing confection company. Here visitors can tour the company's factory and see how popular Mito-born confections like ""Mito no Ume"" and ""Yoshiwara Denchu"" are made. Confections fresh from the factory are also delivered to the facility and made available for sale to the public. In addition, various events are held here throughout the year such as live demonstrations of kintsuba flour dough sweet bean cakes being made by a seasoned pro. Lastly, the facility has free parking able to accommodate 250 vehicles and can be used as a rest area for visitors exploring the area by car."

    A local specialty products shop carrying renowned sweets, liquors, and other goods from Ibaraki Prefecture which adjoins the east gate of Kairakuen Park a 20-minute drive from the Mito interchange on the Joban Expressway on National Route 50. The single-story shop is housed in a wooden building modeled after a tea ceremony arbor (sukiya style). In addition to the product floor, there's also a rest space and a pamphlet corner where visitors will find an abundance of information on the area. The shop also serves as a base camp for sightseeing in Ibaraki and the Mito area. In addition, there's a corner displaying the most popular items as well as a corner which displays local crafts for sale. The shop's selection of over 700 items includes seasonal selections of specialty products and sweets.

    A Western sweet shop in front of Kasama Station in Shimoichige, Kasama City. They make Western-style Kasama confectionery with local ingredients, including the area's famous chestnuts. Besides their chestnut-packed Kasama Hagi-no-Hime pound cake, they also sell Gokoku Roll Cake and Kasama-no-Kuri Hiroi roll cake. There's also a cafe area on-site.

    五穀ロールが有名な洋菓子店。今回はホールのシンプルないちごケーキを購入しました。スポンジがふわふわ、生クリームもあっさり。甘さ控えめで一人で半分くらい食べられそうです。お誕生日ケーキにもおすすめです。

    This bakery is located along Gallery Road, in Kasama, Kasama City. The bread is made using homemade natural yeast from Kasama strawberries, and baked in a Spanish stone kiln. In addition to selling Kasama natural yeast bread, filled with a generous helping of fresh cream, French bread, sweet bread, cooking bread and sandwiches, the bakery also has an eat-in space on the second floor.

    売り切れになること多いとの噂をきいて心配したが、無事パンを買えました。ウインナーパンのウインナーは上質。カレーパンのまわりは油っこくなくサクサク。ほうれん草パンはふわふわ。どれも美味しかった。価格は都心よりも2割くらい安い。次々焼きたてパンが並べられ、並べるそばから売れていく。建物もオシャレ。近くに行ったら是非!

    お豆腐が、とってもおいしい。やはり冷奴でいただくのが最高。がんもどきは さっと焼いても、甘辛く煮てもおいしいです。豆乳ソフトは、甘さ控えめで さっぱりしています。笠間に行ったときは必ず立ち寄ります。

    値段がリーズナブルで美味しいおせんべいが沢山あります。 また、買い物したお客様は奥でコーヒーや緑茶がいただけます。 驚いたのは甘いお菓子が美味しいこと。 生菓子(レーズンサンドなど)は151円ですがケーキ屋さんのもののような美味しさ。フロランタン(129円)も美味しくて、奥でコーヒーとともにいただきました。 すごく得した気分になるお煎餅やさんです。
