The restaurant serves sashimi, seafood rice bowls, kamani hotpots, and lovingly made using fresh, local seafood and tuna stocked each morning from the market by the owner. The restaurant also offers seasonal goosefish nabe hotpot and goosefish liver in ponzu sauce, as well as reservation-only kabutoyaki broiled tuna head. The restaurant carries several varieties of seasonal sakes and also has courses for parties and Buddhist memorial services."

    旅館の人たちがとても感じが良かったです!週末の午後4時ころ、突然訪問しましたが、笑顔で「お弁当ならすぐ出来るからちょっと待っててね」と作ってくれました。 お弁当はとてもボリューミーで、もも肉・むね肉・玉子と食感や味の違いを楽しめました。濃いめのたれがご飯にもしみていて、とても美味かったです(^_^)大子町に行ったらマストな一品だと思います!

Local volunteers provide tourism information, and visitors to the facility can buy items like jams and jellies made with the society using fruit from the mulberry, the official tree of Yuki City; teas and other processed foods; local crafts like Yuki-tsumugi pongee; local liquors; and sudare fu wheat gluten. Depending on the day, demonstrations of Yuki-tsumugi weaving are held at the facility, enabling visitors to see how the complex handlooms used to make this craft are operated.

    A sake brewery established in the Edo period located a 10-minute walk from the north exit of JR Yuki Station. The brewery building was originally built in the Ansei era; this and the large brick chimney added on in the Meiji period are designated a National Tangible Cultural Property. Visitors can enjoy food along with Fukufuku, a traditional and renowned sake which has been brewed since the Edo period, served at various temperatures. Yuiyui, another of the brewery's famous sakes, is decorated with a design created by a local calligrapher depicting a thread ring surrounding the character for good fortune. Made with underground water from the Kinugawa River system, this sake is characterized by its mild flavor.

    A soba restaurant located a short walk from Shimonomiya Station in Kuji County, Ibaraki Prefecture. The restaurant's soba noodles are made with pure underground Tsukimachi Waterfall water and over an 80% percent ratio of stone milled buckwheat flour to wheat flour, resulting in noodles that are aromatic and clean-tasting. The restaurant offers slippery thin-cut noodles and fragrant thick-cut noodles depending on the toppings. Plus, there's an all-you-can-eat nagashi-somen noodle slide course in summer. The restaurant's fragrant, home-roasted coffee is also popular. Located close to Tsukimachi Waterfall, diners can hear the pleasant sounds of the falls, and the surrounding forest is particularly gorgeous in autumn.

    "A large park with spacious grounds spanning 25 hectares. The park encloses several historic structures, including the Nakayama Residence, a large farmhouse built in the mid-Edo period; and the Tobita Residence, the oldest ""magariya""-style building in the prefecture. The park is also a renowned destination for flower viewing, and some 1,500 flowering peach trees spanning five varieties grow on the grounds, in addition to a lotus pond in which grow Oga lotuses, an ancient lotus variety. The Koga Peach Festival is held at the park each year when the trees are in bloom, attracting many visitors who come to enjoy the beauty of the flowers."

At night from the top of the park's 52-meter tall observation tower, visitors can get a sweeping view of the glittering factories operating in the Kashima coastal industrial zone. On New Year's Day, the park is open from 6:00 a.m., and the sight of the first sunrise of the new year emerging from beyond the industrial zone is stirring.

    ご当地バーガーのなめパックンを求めて土浦駅からランニングでやってきました。お昼をわずかに過ぎた時間でしたが既に売り切れ。平日だったしそれほど多く作ってないのでしょうか。他の行方バーガーはとても美味しかったので、またなめパックンを求めて走ってこようと思います。

    A Shinto shrine dedicated to Onamuchi-no-mikoto and Sukunabikona-no-mikoto located in Itako City, Ibaraki Prefecture. Records state the shrine was founded in the distant Nanboku-cho period (1336-1392). The shrine's annual festival is held on November 23. As part of the festival, the Uwado-no-Shishimai lion dance, a designated Prefectural Cultural Property, is performed to pray for bountiful harvests. The three lion masks used in the performance are believed to have been donated to the shrine in 1395. The performance consists of an intense dance by a male lion, a graceful dance by a female lion, and a dance which combines elements of the former two by a neuter lion, plus dances by a tengu goblin and okame homely woman.

    "A science museum located close to the ""Kokudo Chiriin"" bus stop on the Kanto Railway Bus which leaves from Tsukuba Station in Ibaraki Prefecture. Through videos, informational panels, human body rulers, dioramas, eye measuring activities, and other exhibits, visitors can learn about the history, principles, mechanisms, and latest technologies concerning maps and surveying. At the adjoining Earth Plaza, there is a hemispherical model of the globe from the position of the Japanese islands from which visitors can get a sense of the true curvature of the planet, and Kunikaze, a former survey plane, is also on display here. The museum also holds special exhibitions, map and surveying orientations, and lectures."

    We visited with my daughters (7 and 4 years old). We spent around 2 hours there. Its a good place visit.

    A local cuisine restaurant which has been in business for over 70 years located in an area with a view of Fukuroda Falls (also known as Yodo-no-taki) in Kuji County, Ibaraki Prefecture. While taking in the seasonal beauty of the area, diners can enjoy dishes such as oden stew flavored with miso, Japanese pepper, and yuzu; kenchin soba noodles dipped in a miso soup filled with vegetables; kon'nyaku devil's tongue jelly served sashimi style and dengaku style broiled with miso. Beverages on offer include iced coffee and iced green tea made with spring water. The restaurant also offers several desserts, like mitsumame jelly cubes and fruit.

    袋田の滝が見えるということで4点を付けました。滝を見終わった後、ここで食べるといいと思います。秋だと、体が冷えるので、温かいものが食べたくなります。選択肢はあまりありませんが、けんちん汁とつけそばのセットにしました。滝を見ながら外で食べることもできますが、暖房付きのガラスの部屋もあります。お土産屋とつながっています。

    The main location of a dorayaki Japanese-style pancake sandwich shop which has been in business for over 60 years. The shop is situated on National Route 354 along the way to the Kasumigaura Bridge in Tsuchiura City, Ibaraki Prefecture. The shop's standard dorayaki consists of sweet adzuki beans from specially contracted farms mashed into a paste and enwrapped in two moist pancakes whose recipe is changed daily as appropriate to local humidity and temperature. Other dorayaki varieties include the highly popular chestnut dorayaki made with candied Japanese chestnuts, and the unusual and spicy curry dorayaki. The shop also sells a Kijo-no-matsu dorayaki made by image of pine trees in the Tsuchiura Castle and Hasu-dora dorayaki made with candied lotus seeds only offered here in Tsuchiura.

    土浦というか茨城のお土産を探すのはなかなか大変ですが、直ぐに渡すことができればしちのさんのどら焼きは、誰にでも喜ばれます。 最近は、柏にもできてしまったので、柏市の人にはお土産にしにくくなってしまいました。 しちののどら焼きは美味しいので、自分へのご褒美には値段も適当で嬉しいですね。

    A long-standing shop which sells Nishinouchi washi Japanese paper, a craft designated a Prefectural and National Intangible Cultural Property. The shop sells Nishinouchi washi and finished goods and also operates as a museum with exhibits on Nishinouchi washi and handmade papers from around the world. Nishinouchi washi is a high quality, sturdy paper made with Nasu kozo (paper mulberry) and was once valued as a monopoly good of the former Mito Domain. The facility offers papermaking demonstrations and sukie paper art classes (advance reservation required), making it easy for visitors to experience the world of this traditional craft.

    JR水郡線中舟生駅から近いので歩くこともできますが、その後の行動を考えると車があったほうが便利です。紙漉きができるので、小学生くらいのお子さんがいる家族連れの方にお勧めです。近くの淡水魚館ともども、雨の日でも楽しめる荷がよいですね。
