From the park's observatory, visitors can get a sweeping view of Mt. Tsukuba, Lake Kasumigaura, and the Kanto Plain, and, on clear days, Mt. Fuji, Tokyo Skytree, and the vast sea of buildings of Tokyo's Shinjuku city subcenter. The park has a ground for paragliders to take off and on weekends many paragliding lovers make their way here. Also famous for its night view, the park is a popular destination for couples and photography lovers.

    A 15 minute drive from the Kita-Ibaraki Interchange. A small park on the tip of Cape Otsu jutting out into the Pacific Ocean with a view of the Rokkakudo, a red hexagonal pavilion and local landmark. Situated on a cliff a little above the ocean, the scenery as seen from the park is gorgeous and like something out of a painting. The park has walking courses, benches, and roofed rest area. The park was also used as a filming location for the movie “Tenshin” and has a memorial viewing tower dedicated to remembering the Great East Japan Earthquake. Come on a sunny day and enjoy a picnic lunch on the park’s lawn.

    Nanatsudo Park located in Mito City, Ibaraki Prefecture is a municipal park which opened in 1999. It features an exclusive English-style landscaped garden which was designed by a British company and uses British building materials. You can relax with large and small ponds and dams, water flowing from the dams and greenery along the water lines. You can enjoy a secret flower garden where you can see colorful roses and buildings and a pavilion which are reminiscent of ancient times. As you can feel the history from the scenery, it was used as a filming location for a movie called “Thermae Romae”.

    春休みに泊まりました。受付のおじいさんは、優しく、ロッジは山の頂上にあり静かです。あいにく雪の日だったので、坂道が怖かったですが、雪かきをしてくれて、帰りは快適でした。事前注文のお野菜も美味しかった。

It is said that ""Joshu Ushibori,"" one of the famous ""36 Views of Mt. Fuji"" woodblock print series by Hokusai, was created here."

    A lush park whose vast grounds are covered in trees located a 10-minute drive from the Yatabe Interchange. The park is divided into six areas - a seasonal forest zone, fun forest zone, cherry tree forest zone, wild bird forest zone, waterside forest zone, and family friendly square. Seasonal trees and plants bloom in each of the areas, and many visitors are attracted to the park during peak sightseeing seasons. In spring, there's a tunnel of double-flowered cherries and weeping cherries; in autumn, Japanese maples color the grounds. The park provides many opportunities for coming in contact with nature and visitors can also view plants and animals like the many wild birds and water lilies found in the wild bird forest and waterside forest areas.

    A nature park adjoining Juo Dam an eight-minute drive from the Hitachi-kita Interchange on the Joban Expressway. Some 400 cherry trees spanning 35 varieties have been planted in the park and in spring when the trees are in full bloom visitors can enjoy the landscape dyed pink by their blossoms. An observatory resembling a flying saucer stands in the center of the park offering a 360 degree panoramic view of the dam and the cherry trees. The park also has a huge playground with a 43-meter-long roller slide, giving children a place to run and play. The park is a popular destination for families and on weekends visitors can be seen enjoying a relaxing picnic lunch on the park's grass lawn.

    福岡堰に反射する桜並木を撮影しにいきましたが、川面がちょっと波があり、水鏡とまではいきませんでした。 それでも福岡堰沿いの桜のトンネルや公園の桜が満開だったので、朝一の散歩を楽しめました。 7時の到着で、出店もない時間でしたが、わりと人もいました。
