    An information center located in Bandai-Asahi National Park in the Tsuchiyu Onsen (hot spring) Town in Fukushima City, Fukushima Prefecture. The center has information panels with photographs of the Jododaira area and dioramas as well as a shop. The facility holds nature watching, trekking, and other events, attracting many tourists. The center is open from early April to mid-November.

    噴火口のまわりを見て回れます。硫黄の噴出量が多い場合は通行止めとなります。猪苗代湖側からより逆側から登る道の方が私はお勧めです。

It's a restoration of the former Horikiri family residence, a village headman who made substantial contributions to the local economy. The grounds include valuable examples of old architecture including the Jukkenkura, a warehouse built in 1775 and the oldest such in the prefecture, as well as a newly constructed building that houses an exhibition room, tourist information, and event space. There's also a foot and hand bath on site and you can enjoy looking over the garden while warming yourself in the free flowing natural hot spring constantly replenished ""kakenagashi"" style."

    The Fukushima Prefectural Museum of Art which is only a few steps from the Bijutsukan Toshokan Mae (Museum and Library) Station. It is located at the foot of Mt. Shinobu which is the symbol of Fukushima City, surrounded by rich nature where the chirping of wild birds can be heard, vast grounds of many trees and flowers, wide lawns and a Japanese garden. The museum has a collection of over 3,800 art works, including paintings, woodblock prints, sculpture and handicrafts. A collection of overseas art works of European Impressionists such as Monet and Gauguin and modern American realism paintings are displayed. In addition, there are also many works of art by artists from Fukushima Prefecture such as artist Sekine Tadashi and a print artist, Saito Kiyoshi.

Inside, visitors can purchase fresh fruit and souvenirs like Tsuchiyu kokeshi wooden dolls, a famous folk craft from the Tsuchiyu Onsen hot spring district. The station's foods made with kon'nyaku devil's tongue jelly such as the handmade Meibutsu Chigiri Kon'nyaku shredded jelly and kon'nyaku ice cream. The station also has a restaurant serving udon noodles, rice bowls, and soups made with local ingredients, and the station is a great place for drivers exploring the area to take a break.

    駐車場が広く、ゆったり止められました。遠景は雪をいただいた安達太良山でしょうか。パンフレットなどを入手しました。売店は貧弱でした。簡単な食事はできそうです。

    This is a sightseeing road in Fukushima City. It’s a 28.7 kilometer line connecting Takayu Onsen to Tsuchiyu Pass. It was once a toll road but is now free to use. Taking the route through to Azuma Mountain Range to an elevation of 1,350 meters offers a beautiful view of Mt. Azuma-kofuji and more. Every season has its attraction, such as the lovely foliage in fall, but the road is closed in winter.

    One of Japan’s Three Great Fudosons, Nakano Fudoson is located on the west side of Iizaka Onsen-district. It is a power spot known as the birthplace of “Roku-San Yoke”—a secret method of charm protection. Three Fudo Myo-o “Yakuyoke”, “Ganshu”, and “Mikazuki” are worshipped here, and are said to hear the prayers of one who prays with a clean heart. You can enjoy some herbal tea called “Toki-cha” at the Kamoshika-An, a rest spot. They also offer original souvenirs of Nakano Fudoson and light meals such as dumpling balls with sweet sake.

    A temple in Teramae, Hirano, Iizaka-machi, Fukushima City. It was established in 826. The principal object of worship in the main hall is the Dainichi Nyorai while in the Yakushi Hall the object of worship as introduced by the monk Kobo Daishi is the Yakushi Nyorai, also called the Saba-no-Yakushi. The temple was also the family temple for the Sato family of the Northern Fujiwara clan who ruled over Iizaka. While on his Narrow Road to the Interior, poet Matsuo Basho recalled the devotion of lord Sato Tsugunobu, who died taking an arrow for lord Minamoto no Yoshitsune, with a verse, 'Decorate the satchel and the sword with streamers, in the month of May.' The temple grounds have a slab with Basho's verse carved into it as well as a treasure hall.

    A cultural preservation establishment located in the Azuma Sports Park in Oishimae, Kaminagura, Fukushima City. It contains houses from the prefecture's northern area and the Aizu area that were first built between the mid-Edo Period and the mid-Meiji Period and the moved and reconstructed. The onsite museum has exhibits around the theme of Home Life and there's a hands-on area with straw craft and classic toys.

    One of my favorite places in Fukushima City. There are events and workshops on some weekends and public holidays which are amazing, but it is still really interesting on a quiet weekday when there...

    Hanamiyama Park started off as a flower cultivation project for silkworm farming in 1926, and over the years the flowers increased until it was opened as a park in 1959. From February through May, the park is abloom with colza blossoms, plum and cherry blossoms, as well as tulips and many more. It truly has earned its nickname of Fairyland.

Here you can enjoy picking cherries, Asian pears, peaches, grapes, apples, and other fruits when in season. The orchard also offers a reservation-only course which includes a souvenir. The orchard's parking area can accommodate three large busses. The orchard is open from June to December.

    Jododaira is a subalpine plateau on Washikurayama, Tsuchiyu Onsen Town, Fukushima City, Fukushima Prefecture. The coniferous forest and marshland creates a unique landscape. The visitors center is the central location for their five trekking courses which vary from a 20-minute walk to hikes that can take a few hours. There is an observatory that is open every Wednesday and Saturday evening for star gazing. The road is closed from late October to early April due to snow.

    The 1,707 meter tall Mt. Azuma-kofuji is part of the Azuma Mountain Range. When you look west from the Fukushima city area, it looks like nothing so much as a small version of Mt. Fuji, thus the name of Kofuji. You can take the Bandai Azuma Skyline Drive to the Jododaira parking area, and from there climb the stairs for a clear view of the mortar-shaped crater. If the weather is right, you can see all the way to the Fukushima Basin, and the ease of climb makes it a draw for those wanting an easy hike.

    A natural hot spring facility constantly replenished kakenagashi style located in Fukushima City, Fukushima Prefecture. The facility is over 400 years old and is known as one of the three Takayu hot spring bathhouses of Oshu (Mutsu) Province. The facility can be used by non-guests. The bathhouse has a mixed bath, outdoor bath, and private baths. Visitors can enjoy beautiful natural scenery along with their natural hot spring bath.

    こちらには安く入湯できる露天風呂があります。以前はそのお風呂を利用しましたが、今回は道案内をしてもらいたくて受付を訪れると的確な案内をしてもらいました。以前に利用した時はその先の道路が火山活動のため通行止めになっていたのです。今日はそれも解除されていましたが、行程を細かく教えてもらうと別ルートを選びました。悪天のためグッドチョイスだったと思います。

    This fruit farm grows sweet and delicious Tochiotome strawberries. It also offers strawberry picking from the second Saturday of January to late May. The farm closes as soon as the harvest quota for the day is reached. Whether the farm opens each day depends on how well the strawberries are growing. As such, you will want to contact the farm before coming. Service is first-come, first-served.

    音室の室内は30度の暑さで、大きないちごが熟していました。立ったままで取りやすい位置にいちごがあり、食べ尽くせません。

    子供を連れて桃狩りに行きました。 福島市のフルーツライン沿いにあり、立ち寄りやすいです。 福島の桃は暁が有名ですが、それ以外にもたくさんの種類の桃を作っていて 食べ比べすることができました。とりたての桃はパリッとした触感でみずみずしく とてもジューシー。本当においしくて、子供と一緒に沢山いただきました。 直売所で売っている桃も安く手、自宅へのお土産用に購入しました。

    A tourism-oriented orchard that grows cherries, blueberries, peaches, grapes, and apples. Each of the varieties of fruit (10 varieties of grapes are grown there) is available for picking in season until there are no more left. Individual visitors do not need to make reservations, but groups of ten or more should make reservations by phone or over the internet. Only individual visitors can enjoy picking blueberries.

    季節ごとに果物狩りができます。今回はさくらんぼ狩り+ブルーベリー狩りをしました。さくらんぼ狩りは佐藤錦と紅秀峰があり、どちらも甘く大粒で美味しかったです。ブルーベリーは敷地内に鉢植えのブルーベリーが並んでおり、摘み取って食べました。その場で食べ放題なだけでなく、摘み取り1パックお持ち帰りOKだったのが良かったです。2種類の果物狩りをしたのでセット割引もありました。
