Everything from growing, drying, blending, and stone grinding the buckwheat to making the soba noodles is done in-house. The sauces the soba is served with are made by hand as well. Their namasoba (fresh soba noodles) made with 100% buckwheat flour is popular for its springiness and great throat feel. The restaurant only operates during the period that the Maezawa Magariya Village is open to visitors.

This farming village kabuki stage was built on the grounds of the Komagatake Shrine in 1895. The stage, which is a reconstruction of an older stage, is 7.64 meters wide and 8.56 meters deep. It features a kabuto-zukuri style thatched gabled roof with a small eave on the front. This uncommon style of roof is named after its resemblance to a samurai helmet. The stage features a central elevated fixed second stage of double steps located behind the front stage. Printed paper screens can be installed in front of and behind the second stage. There is also an area behind the second stage with a floor at one step lower height as the second stage that serves as a green room. The stage, which is a National Important Tangible Folk Cultural Property, hosts performances of regional performing arts every year in early August.

Visitors can get information on sightseeing in Minamiaizu, enjoy a meal, and even purchase the local produce and souvenirs. The most popular item at the attached restaurant, Koiji Chaya, is its ""Sanshu Gattaimen,"" which features ramen, soba, and udon noodles served together in a large bowl. Many people come here just for this dish. It contains one and a half servings worth of noodles, so make sure you have a large appetite before you give it a try."

The alkaline simple springs were named Tenjin no Yu becauseTenjin, the patron deity of Academics, Scholarship, and Learning, had been worshiped nearby. The tiny shack of the bathhouse features nothing more than two baths and a dressing space. However, its open windows overlook the riverbed, giving it a liberating sense of openness.
  • Yunohana Onsen Ishiyu
    Accommodations / Hot Spring
    Fukushima Minamiaizu-gun Minamiaizumachi Yunohana 528
"This mixed-gender public bathhouse is located on the bank of the Yunomata River. It features baths fed with rather hot spring water from an alkaline simple spring pulling in from the riverbed. The shack-like bathhouse humorously appears to be clinging to a boulder that sits on the riverbank. The name, which means ""stone bath,"" stems from the fact that the original bathtub was carved out of a large natural boulder."
