    A shop selling local specialty products located in Aizuwakamatsu City, Fukushima Prefecture. Located in JR Nanukamachi Station, the shop carries products from 17 cities, towns, and villages in the Aizu area. The cafe space serves coffee made with the same spring water used for local sakes, as well as juices made with local fruits. The establishment also provides local tourism information.

    会津若松から只見線で一駅、古い町なみ保存がすすめられている七日町の入り口にあたる駅が、リニューアルして、カフェと売店になっています。気軽に利用できます。

    A souvenir shop located in Aizuwakamatsu City, Fukushima Prefecture. The shop sells akabeko red ox bubbleheads, a traditional craft from the Aizu area, as well as antique kimono and other garments made with e-gasuri patterned textiles created with old cloth, Kurume kasuri textiles, and katazome stencil-dyed cloth. The shop also holds short courses in which you can make your own akabeko, painting it and giving it a unique face all your own.

    会津若松市内にある荒井工芸店。会津の民芸品、赤べこを作ることができます。まだ、塗ってない赤べこに、アクリル絵の具で色や模様をつけていきます。赤べこは、疫病よけとも、コロナ対策にもつながると思い、作りました。丁寧に教えてくれるので、気軽にマイ赤べこが作れます。料金も一つ880円と格安。柿渋の渋い色のものもできます。店内では、着物や他の民芸品なども売っています。

    Fukushima Aizuwakamatsu-shi Iimori 3-15-33
    This folk craft store is located right next to the entrance of the Mt. Iimori approach. The first floor has a coffee space and shop selling Aizu souvenirs and folk crafts, and the second floor has a restaurant where you can relax. Groups of 10 or more people can receive a free guide to Mt. Iimori and a Byakkotai sword dance show (reservation required). You can dress up in Byakkotai samurai costumes and pretend to be a member of the Byakkotai, rent Byakkotai costumes, and make original wooden swords, photo frames, T-shirts and other Byakkotai art.

    会津若松の飯盛山の参道下にある、お土産もの屋兼お食事処。入店後の店員のおばちゃんたちの売り込みが強烈で、食事中もあれやこれやセールスに来る。落ち着いて食事ができない。味もいたって普通で、価格は高め。

    This picture candle shop was established in 1772. It was a long-established store for Aizu domain's purveyors, and continues to make beautiful picture candles with vivid colors. Each of the picture candles, made using a technique handed down from generation to generation with the traditional beauty of the Aizu region, are carefully painted one by one. At the studio attached to the store, you can enjoy an unforgettable painting experience (reservation required). The picture candles, with beautiful delicate brush strokes, are appreciated not only as souvenirs from Aizu but also as gifts.

    "This Aizu lacquerware shop has a history spanning more than 200 years. This black plastered warehouse, built in the late Edo period (1603-1867), has a wide variety of lacquerware, soup bowls and incense containers including ""Aizu-e"" that reproduces traditional Aizu lacquerware patterns and ""Tetsusabi-e."" The building blends Japanese and Western styles that melt in with the modernized cityscape and is a designated historical landscape building that survived the Great Fire of Edo and the Boshin War. It is said that it was the earliest place to have been refurbished to a Western-style folded ceiling in Aizu-Wakamatsu. You will be able to find folk art such as wine cups, candy plates and accessories that fit in with the modern world."

The Otsukimi (moon viewing series) and the “Yae Selection” series chosen from Fukushima Prefecture businesses in the craft category has a good reputation. It is five minutes by car from Aizuwakamatsu Interchange on the Joban Expressway.

    This product center is located adjacent to Roadside Station Aizu-Yanaizu. The facility along the bank of the Tadami River has a footbath, restaurants, and shops selling local products. Themed on the hot springs of nine towns and villages in the Saijiki, it is known for stimulating foot pressure points when walking on pebbles at the bottom of the bath. The footbath facility, which is open to the public free of charge, is a great place for drivers to relax during long journeys. You can even have Yanai's famous sauce pork cutlet rice bowl in the food corner. The freshly-made warm awamanju (sweet bean paste wrapped in millet dough) can be frozen, making them a popular souvenir.

    This Aizu cotton weaver boasts 400 years of tradition. Since its establishment in 1905, the company has been continued to manufacture Aizu cotton using the old-fashioned Toyota loom of the early Showa period (1926-1989). Aizu cotton is simple and modest, but it is durable and long-lasting, and was worn by the Byakkotai samurai and is said to have been worn by Hideyo Noguchi as a boy. The dozens of antique equipment in operation is a sight to behold. Since everything from dyeing to weaving is done in an integrated manner, you can also thoroughly observe the weaving process.

Their ""Tsuyadama,"" an original pendant from the Sakamoto Collection, is an item that can be used by all generations and has attracted growing attention."

    This is the oldest commercial store in Aizu Wakamatsu, where the history and traditions of Tsuruga Castle remain alive. Since its establishment in 1624, the company has been selling bamboo craftwork, miscellaneous and household goods and Aizu Tojin kites. Tojin kites, with their unique expressions and big tongues, are a traditional craft that is said to have been brought to Nagasaki from mainland Asia 400 years ago. The long history and traditions of Aizu are still preserved on Ichinomachi-dori Street, which has been the busiest shopping street in Aizu since the Edo period (1603-1867).

In addition to tableware such as bowls, chopsticks and multi-tiered food boxes, it also offers a wide variety of lacquerware such as stationery employing Makie lacquer ware techniques and accessories. Located just off National Route 121, the shop has an exhibition and business negotiation space where you can actually hold items in your hands while considering whether to purchase them. There are many unique items such as wooden cups celebrating new periods, ""hariko"" papier-mache daruma doll for success in an examination, and accessories that express the color of coral reefs in lacquerware."

    今年、オープンした赤べこカフェ、店内の古民家リニューアルのテーブル席もよし、エントランスのウッドデッキもよし傍に赤べこがいます。今日はパンの耳サンドをいただきました。柔らかな耳の赤べこ食パンを使っているので、パクパク食べれます。ひとつはローストビーフ、もうひとつは桜肉のサンドです。たっぷりと入った肉は実に美味しかったです。ここの珈琲はとても美味しいです。香り高いバナナフロートも絶品でした。

    通りから少し入ったところにあります。駐車場完備、犬連れOKということで行ってみました。正直期待外れなところがありました。ブランド館ということでそれなりのレベルのものを期待したのですが、あるのはお土産品ばかり。それも小物のたぐい。早々と退散。近くの漆器やさんに行きました。

    階段の一番上の左側にあるショップです。元々白虎隊の墓守をしていた女性が始めたお店ですので、界隈のお土産屋さんの中でも一番の古手です

    飯盛山は白虎隊関連の見所で有名ですが、宇賀神堂とさざえ堂近くにある飯盛本店は休憩も食事も出来てお土産も売っていて休憩に最適な場所にありました。店舗外に宇賀神堂の御朱印押印所の看板や店舗内に御朱印授与所の看板が掲示されていたので御朱印もゲットできました。
