    This product center is located adjacent to Roadside Station Aizu-Yanaizu. The facility along the bank of the Tadami River has a footbath, restaurants, and shops selling local products. Themed on the hot springs of nine towns and villages in the Saijiki, it is known for stimulating foot pressure points when walking on pebbles at the bottom of the bath. The footbath facility, which is open to the public free of charge, is a great place for drivers to relax during long journeys. You can even have Yanai's famous sauce pork cutlet rice bowl in the food corner. The freshly-made warm awamanju (sweet bean paste wrapped in millet dough) can be frozen, making them a popular souvenir.

    This Aizu cotton weaver boasts 400 years of tradition. Since its establishment in 1905, the company has been continued to manufacture Aizu cotton using the old-fashioned Toyota loom of the early Showa period (1926-1989). Aizu cotton is simple and modest, but it is durable and long-lasting, and was worn by the Byakkotai samurai and is said to have been worn by Hideyo Noguchi as a boy. The dozens of antique equipment in operation is a sight to behold. Since everything from dyeing to weaving is done in an integrated manner, you can also thoroughly observe the weaving process.

    This shop selling picture candles, a traditional craft in Aizu, boasts a history of over 250 years. Located about a 10-minute drive north of Tsuruga Castle, it continues to make elegant and gorgeous picture candles. Candles in Aizu are said to have been started more than 500 years ago by Morinobu Ashina, the lord of Aizu, who encouraged the planting of lacquer trees. Picture candles, which have pictures placed on high-quality candles, were used and loved by feudal lords, shrines, temples and high society in those days. The picture candle-making experience, where visitors can paint their own candles in about one hour, is also very popular (reservation required).

The accessories made of Japanese wood and lacquer are popular for their volume, lightness and comfort. Their ""Tsuyadama,"" an original pendant from the Sakamoto Collection, is an item that can be used by all generations and has attracted growing attention."

    This is the oldest commercial store in Aizu Wakamatsu, where the history and traditions of Tsuruga Castle remain alive. Since its establishment in 1624, the company has been selling bamboo craftwork, miscellaneous and household goods and Aizu Tojin kites. Tojin kites, with their unique expressions and big tongues, are a traditional craft that is said to have been brought to Nagasaki from mainland Asia 400 years ago. The long history and traditions of Aizu are still preserved on Ichinomachi-dori Street, which has been the busiest shopping street in Aizu since the Edo period (1603-1867).

Located just off National Route 121, the shop has an exhibition and business negotiation space where you can actually hold items in your hands while considering whether to purchase them. There are many unique items such as wooden cups celebrating new periods, ""hariko"" papier-mache daruma doll for success in an examination, and accessories that express the color of coral reefs in lacquerware."

Rakuten is a style of art based around imaginative and distorted renderings of the original roots of kanji, ancient Chinese oracle script and bronze inscriptions. They offer a unique beauty that varies wildly from more modern kanji, and you can see exampled used at the station building, local shop signs, ramen bowls, and other places around town. The workshop also offers seal engraving activities to bring home the fun of kanji art.

    This folk craft shop is about a three-minute drive from Kitakata Station. They display and sell a variety of local Aizu Kitakata craft arts, including the exquisite makie lacquerware sprinkled with gold and silver, as well as glass art and kirinoko dolls made from paulownia sawdust. Their Makie Glass Crafts, which feature glass decorated using makie techniques from lacquerware, feature modern designs that fit well with current decorations. The clear, cool aura and cute designs of their beaded cellphone straps are popular with all kinds of customers. The second floor holds a display of kirinoko dolls, all individually hand-made from paulownia sawdust kneaded into ramen flour dough.

    A shop selling fresh picked agricultural goods from the Minami-Aizu region, primarily from Shimogo Town. They offer a wide variety of goods from local processed goods to local liquors and sake as well as folk crafts and handicrafts. They also offer Aizu's endemic local Aizu-jidori poultry. There's also a restaurant where you can enjoy a variety of local dishes including 100% Shimogo Town grown buckwheat soba noodles, Aizu-jidori chicken curry, and a special trout burger made with the local specialty trout.

Recommended souvenirs include their Mizu Sayaka gelatins, which are made with Oze's cool and clear water, Iyo Miso, Hatto (buckwheat and rice pounded mochi), and more. Iyo miso, a dish long eaten in Hinoemata Village, is made by mixing miso paste with grilled and shredded char. It is often eaten as a topping on rice or rice cakes and also makes a great snack to go with alcoholic beverages.

    This fruit farm offers fruit picking relatively close to central Fukushima City. It is located about five kilometers west of Fukushima Station and about two kilometers north of Fukushima Nishi Interchange on the Tohoku Expressway. The farm specializes in peaches, a specialty of Fukushima, of which it grows 18 varieties (and more than 30 varieties if you include saplings). It also grows 10 varieties of cherry and one variety of apple (as well as two additional varieties that serve as pollenizers). The farm takes great pride in the diversity of the fruit it grows. It is possible to enjoy cherry picking starting around early June and peach picking starting around mid-July. The farm also sells cherries, peaches, and apples and will even offers home delivery service.
