Visitors are sure to enjoy the minshuku's charming thatched roof building as well as its kiritanpo nabe toasted rice ball hotpot, char broiled around an old-fashioned irori sunken hearth, and other traditional Japanese cuisine. The facility also has a cafe as well as a souvenir shop selling Aizu-hongo ware tableware and a wide variety of other Aizu crafts and goods.

    This is one of (I think) 3 minshuku on the main street in Ouchijuku. Meaning youre sleeping in a thatched roof house in the middle of this old-timey village. The inn itself is a bit hard to find...

    サザエさんのオープニングにも出てくお店のとのことですが、ふれあい通りを散策中に見つけました。蔵造りの立派な建物で2階の開き窓が印象的でした。残念ながら、開店時間前のようで木戸が閉まっていました。

Their ""Caramel Pudding Roll,"" a popular product with pudding inside caramel cream, has won the Grand Prize at the Fukushima Roll-Cake Festival. Their basket of baked sweets and jellies makes a great gift."
