  • Goshikinuma Nature Trail

    Goshikinuma Nature Trail starts near the Goshikinuma bus stop, which is reachable on the Aizu Bus route from JR Inawashiro Station. At 3.6 kilometers in length, it is one of the principal hiking courses in the Urabandai region, and hikers can enjoy views of the uncanny cobalt blue and green lakes that lie along the path. The course is relatively level, easy to walk on, and even accessible to visitors who use wheelchairs or baby strollers. It takes about one hour and 10 minutes to walk around the Lake Bishamon, Lake Benten, and Lake Aonuma.

    The five-kilometer-long Karasu River is a particularly scenic tributary of the Harase River, which is sourced from Mt. Adatara. It has long been a familiar destination for locals and mountaineers alike. The national government has developed a natural trail along the most beautiful kilometer of the river that can be hiked in around an hour. Make sure to wear appropriate clothing and footwear for the weather and trail conditions.
