    Roadside Station Atsumi is located along the Ushuhama Highway in Wasada Tonoura in the city of Tsuruoka. It includes a shop that sells local products, such as tsukemono (pickled vegetables) and folk crafts, along with a restaurant that sells full means that feature freshly caught seafood from nearby Nezugaseki Harbor. There is also an outdoor bazaar, where visitors can buy seafood, such as roasted squid, turbo cooked in its shell, or snacks such as soft ice cream. Since this roadside station is located on the seashore, visitors can watch the sun set over the Sea of Japan.

    海に面した道の駅、施設は過ごす別れていますが利用はしやすいですね。 お土産でホタテの塩辛、飲食でブルーベリーのミックスソフトクリームをいただきましたが少しコスパは悪いかな、味は良かったですけど。 ホタテの塩辛は思っていたよりは薄味で食べやすかったです。

    国道7号沿い、高速と高速の切れ間にある人気のある道の駅ですがさすがに夕方は少し空いていました。 施設は老朽化、あまり広くなく少し使いづらい感じもしますがなっといっても焼き魚が良いですね。 訪れた時は種類も少なくなっていましたが運良くカレイをゲットできました。 焼きたてで香りも良く大満足でしたー

The largest roadside station in the Tohoku region, Cherryland Sagae is centered around a souvenir store that sells a wide range of Yamagata specialties, such as famous sweets, agricultural produce, local sake and handicrafts. There is also a restaurant and a food court that serve food made using Yamagata beef and Shonai pork. Also, on the other side of the road there is a large cherry orchard called “Hakka Orchard Onuma.” There are also products only available at Cherryland, such as “Jion-ji Temple Golden Sesame Walnut Yubeshi.”

    This station is located along National Route 13 and Obanazawa Shinjo Road in Ashizawa, Obanazawa City. Adjoining the station is a shop offering an abundant variety of local produce, sweets, sake, and artisan crafts. One of the popular menu items in the diner is Obanazawa Suikara Reimen noodles, which combines the Obanazawa watermelon, local soba flour, and Tsuyahime brown rice flour. Other local dishes such as Japanese Yamagata black beef offal stew, and Obanazwa watermelon soft creams are also offered.

    この地方の名物・くじら餅を手に入れようと訪問しました。くじら餅は陳列されていたのですが、5人くらい家族連れの客が集団で商品を囲んでおり、そのうちの中学生くらいの子供が商品をべたべた触りまくり、挙句の果てに陳列してあった全ての商品を指で押し出しました。最近は商品を触らない習慣が定着してきたと思ったのですが、さすがにこの光景を目撃して100%購入意欲がなくなりました。

    This roadside station is along National Route 287 in Shimoyama, Shirataka Town. In addition to a souvenir shop selling local produce and products, Japan's largest yana (ayu fish) farm for tourism is located here. One can join a yana fishing experience under the guidance of an experienced and knowledgeable yana fisherman, and can enjoy various yana dishes at the diner including salt grilled yana lunch specials or yana sashimi (limited to June through October).

    広々とした駐車場がある道の駅で、施設の裏側を流れる最上川には、鮎漁の解禁される4月から11月までヤナ場が設置されています。ヤナ場に行く途中には、大きな鯉が泳ぐ池があり、豆腐田楽やアユの塩焼きの売店もあるのでドライブ途中の休憩に良いです。物産館では、鮎を使用した菓子、甘露煮、一夜干し、冷凍の鮎など鮎関連の商品が豊富でした。

    別の意味で、これぞ道の駅といった趣の施設でした。と云うのも、道路の両側に施設があって、それらを結ぶ歩道橋が架かっているのです。それを見ると、鉄道の駅とよく似た雰囲気を醸し出しています。面白い構造でした。

    施設の駐車場入り口にあった看板が気になりました。江戸時代位の帆船をイメージして作られているものだと思います。最上川は重要な交通手段だったのでこのあたりでも船が来ていたのでしょうが、帆船も来るくらい栄えていたんですかね?

As the name implies, this is a rare spot in Japan where you can watch group of aligned wind turbines so up close on flatland.

Although often overlooked, Yamagata prefecture by no means lacks appeal: the Yamadera temple trail through the mountains, deliciously tender Yonezawa wagyu, and over 100 steaming hot springs, most notably Zao Onsen, await visitors. When winter comes, the snowcapped peaks become dotted with skiers by day and onsen-goers by night, while summer brings the celebration of juicy Yamagata cherries.
