    Nyudozaki Kaiyo, famed for its Oga specialty Ishiyaki stone cooked cuisine, is especially popular for its dish Toginashi Hatahata Yakimeshi Sushi Bowl. This bowl of deboned sandfish sushi is topped with a special sauce, and is only found at Kaiyo. Their Namahage ice cream, made with fresh fruit for a healthy and sour treat, is also a hit.

    This diner is on Prefectural Route 55 in Oga city's Konbuura, Kitaura Nyudozaki. They offer a full menu, with many dishes using Oga's fresh seafood. Their hefty Ganso Uni-don (sea urchin bowl) is particularly popular. They also have original UFO don rice bowls and UFO ramen, inspired by a mysterious object the shop owner saw in Nyudozaki. Their shop offers local specialties as well as crafts made from coral and seashells.

    男鹿半島の先端、入道崎にあるオレンジ色の派手な外観のお店。他のお店からは少し離れたところにあります。 UFO丼など変わり種もありますが海鮮丼を注文しました。 鯛など男鹿半島近海で取れたお魚を中心においしくいただきました。

    An izakaya pub with a distinct triangular roof in the middle of on onsen hot spring village. Their specialty is their roasted grilled hagfish, locally called a pole eel, which is well known for pairing well with sake. Along with the sea-scented pole eel another great choice is the fresh caught seafood prepped right there on the beach. Their menu also includes ramen noodle soup and set meals.

    A sushi restaurant that serves up fresh caught seafood from Kitaura Harbor, located just behind the restaurant. Their voluminous Top Quality Chirashi Sushi is very popular. You can completely enjoy whatever's in season including fresh sea urchin and Iwagaki oysters in the summer or sandfish sushi and Shottsuru Sandfish Hot-pot in the winter. They also have a guesthouse which can accommodate up to 20 lodgers.

    We were there for lunch for 6 of us. The food was great taste with good ingredients. We ordered ramen for the kids and it tastes great.

Their Japanese confection offerings include dorayaki cakes and salted bean daifuku dumplings while Western offerings include castella cake and madeleines. Other highly popular items are their frozen candies, soft-serve ice-cream, and birthday cakes.

    男鹿南秋地区では知らない人がいないといってもいいのではないでしょうか、こちらのお菓子屋さん。なにか菓子折が必要になったときはこちらがおすすめです。

    Founded in 1592 as a shop that produced manju steamed buns this famous confectioner makes the Oame sweet, a traditional classic treat that is synonymous with Noshiro. The Oame treat is made with mochi rice and barley and they are still stubbornly making it using the same techniques as when it was created in 1812. When the area was still a fiefdom the Lord Satake would place an order for them every year and they have won eight prizes at the National Sweets Exhibition which is held every four years.

    創業文禄年間。秋田県内でこの古さはなかなかないのでは? 創業を数字に直すと400年を軽く超えます。伝統の名品は古典銘菓?翁飴。こちらは200年を超える歴史があります。地元では有名なのでしょう。店構えも格式を感じますが、その翁飴がどういうものなのか、扉を開けて入店しないと判明しません。店頭に写真1枚飾っておけばいいだけの話です。旅行者は「へえ、古そうなお菓子屋さん…」で通り過ぎてしまう可能性大です...

    男鹿駅近くの食事処。 徒歩でも15分ぐらい。 海鮮市場内にあり新鮮な魚を食べることができます。 刺身に、焼き魚、煮魚、しょっつる焼きそばなど。その日入った魚の定食が食べられる。 市場では鮮魚やお土産も購入可能です。 帰りは定員さんにタクシーをお願いすれば呼んでもらえます。

    ご当地グルメのハタハタ丼。 意外に歴史は浅いらしく、でも上品な味わいを存分に味わえました。 はたはたタルタル丼は700円台でコスパも高く、青魚フライのような歯ごたえと、うまみタレで箸が進みます。 他の店舗でも食べられるようなので、出張でなければプライベートで制覇したいところ。

    再訪。旅に出て気の利いた洋食、洋食レストランと出会うのは至上の喜び。前回2月は本場金沢でハントンライスを食べた直後に、能代のこの店で再度喫食。本家に負けない内容にびっくり。今度は佐賀のシシリアンライスなんかに挑戦してほしいなあと思いつつ再訪すると、以心伝心2019年のチャレンジメニューに登場してました。ここだけで日本中のローカル洋食が網羅できる? ホントその進取の精神を多くの人に理解してほしいけど...

    休日のお昼は行列必至です。 具だくさん、野菜を沢山取れる冷かけ納豆が美味しくて、何度か通いましたが結局こちらを頼んでしまいます。 お一人様から、老夫婦、昼休み中の作業服姿のグループ、お子さん含めた家族連と、多様な客層で地元の人に愛されているのがよく分かるお店でした。。

    たまたま出張先で見つけた店です。 食堂となっていますが、ほとんどのお客はテンチュウ(てんぷら中華)の大を注文します。 昔ながらの醤油ラーメンに天かすがのったラーメンです。 ミスマッチかと思いきや、とても美味しいラーメンでした。
